Be_it resolved by the�Gity Council of the City of Lyn-
� wood as follows:
1. That the City of Lyn�000d doea hereby
offer to purenase from the County oY Los Angeles,
with the consent of the State Controller, the tax
� deeded properties epeciPically described in the
attached agreement, under the terms provided therein.
2, That the said attached agreement be and by
this reference it is hereby inaorporated into and
-- in ita entirety made a part of this resolution.
3. That the �fayor and the Clerk of the City of
Lynwood be, and they are hereby authorized to exe-
cute said agre�ment for and in behalP oP the City of
Lynwood.

THIS AGREEPdEN'P, made on the day of _,
1943, by and between the Board of Supervisore of,the County of �
Los Angelea, State of California, and the City of Lyncbood, a
munlcipali,ty of the State of California, sub,Ject to the approval
� �of the State Controller of the State of California. ' I
W 2 T N E S S E T H
'1'HAT WHI:REAS, there are aituated in the City of Lyn-
�000d numerous parcels of real property which have been non-revenue
,producing for many years, and in all instances for six (6) qeare
or more; ancl.which are all tax deeded to the 3tate �r delinquent
taxes; and ' '
WHLREAS, each auch deed to the State for taxes in-
cludes taxes levi.ed by the City of Lynwood, the tsxes of which
are collected by.County officers;
NO{Y, THEREFORE, it ia hereby mutually agreed as followa:
1. That the Board of Superyiebrs of the County of Los Angeles
agrees to convey to the City of Lynwood, under the provislona of
Divieion 1, Part 6, Chapter 8, Articles 1 and 2, of the Revenue
and Taxation Code; arid particularly Sectiona 3803, 3804, 3807.5,
3807.8, 3793.5 and 3793.6 thereoP, all oP the property described
in Exhibit ��A" hereto attached and made a part hereo°, which, after
notice of sale, as provided in 3ection 3803 of the Revenue and
Ta�ration Code, has not been redeemed.
2, That the Tax Collector oF Los Angelea County ehall give
notice of said proposed agreement and if the property deacribed
is not redeemed within twenty-one (21) days aPter the firat .

publication and the mailing of the notice of eaid agreement, or
prior to the execution of tax deed by the Tax Collector, then
the Tax Colleetor shall, upon the written request of the City and
within ninety (90) days after the effective date of thia a�ree-
ment, without payment, execute to the City of Lymvood a deed to
all of the parcels eligible to be conveyed, in form prescribed
by the Revenue and Taxation Code of tne State oP California, and
the said City shall thereupon be Pree to aell said property in
such manner as appears will moat qulekly and advantageously re-
store the same to the tax rolls, sub�ect to the following con-
ditions:
(a) That upon the resale of any parcel of said I
property the City of Lynwood ahall immediatelp '
remit to the Tax Collector the total amount of
the sale price thereoY after deducting the
allowable expenses which ahall include not more
than the follo�vingt
l. The cost of ar�y publications and any
expenses i�ncidental to the purchase
and sale by the taxing agency.
2. The cost of a guaranty of title. ,
' 3. The coat proceedings ta obtain a
clear title to the.property.
4.. Expenses incurred to the payment,
compromise or other method oY removal
' of any liena or adverae clalms against
the property. �
(b) That there shall accompany such remittance
� the name and addreas of the purchaser and
an itemized atatement oP auch expenaes ae
to each parcel of property, which itemized
statement eha13 have been approved by res-
olution of the governing body o�? such City.

(c) lhat the Board of Supervisors oY the County of•
� Los Angeles reserves the right to re,ect in
whole or in part ar�y item of expenae which the
Board of Supervisors determines to be excessive
or unreasonable.
(d) That upon the receipt oP said sales price as
above set Porth the County of Los Angeles sha.11
prorate.auch amount among the various taxing
agencies and revenue districts as provided in
3ection 3793.5 of the Revenue and Taxation Code.
(e) That the City oP Lynwood ie hereby required by
. said Seci7lon 3793.5 of the Rever►ue and Taxation
Code to resell each oY the properties to a prinate
purcnaser or purchasera within two (2) yeara aYter
the execution of the tax deed to said City unlesa
such period is extended by resolution of tne Board
of Supervisora of Los Angeles County; provided,
ho�ever, that if the property is not resold as
� , herein provided �he City of Lyn�vood shall immediately
execute a deed reconveying theiproperty as provided
in Section 3807.5 of the Revenue and Taxation Code.
The words "resale", °to resell" and "resold" as used
in thls paragraph and paragraph (a) hereof shall be
deemed to rePer to the complete paesage of title by

the City to a prinate pnrchaser, such that the en-
tire estate will be aub�ect to taxation under the -
provisions of Article 13, Section,l of the California
Constitution. Thie ia not intended to prevent the
resale of property upon credit nor to prevent the

full purehase prioe is paid, but any such

agreement or conveyance ahall provide for the

- � complete payment of the purchase price arid the
complete transPer of title voithin the time
limit or limita hereln apecified and shall
further provide tY�at in the event title has no'C �
been transYerred as herein provided, then and
in that event the property shall be reconveyed
. as provided in this paragraph and that all rights
of tne Gity and ang vendee thereo�' shall cea�e.
(f) That,&s provided by Section 3800 of the Revenue
and Taxation Code, the cost oP givi•ng the notice
, of this agreement she.11.be paid to the County ;
Tax Colleetor by the City of Lynwood; said costs
to be paid in full-immedlately aYter ePfec-,
tive date of this agreement and prior to the
� execution of the deed ta said City.. .
(g) That this agreement�is entered into on behalf
of the Board oY Supervisors of Los Angeies County
upon the representation by the City oP Lynwood �
that none of the properties here5involved are'sub-
,ject to the provieions of_the Soldiera and Sailors
Civil Relief Act of 1940 and amendments thereto,
or ar�y other statute prohibiting the disposal or
sale of tax delinquent real property or the ter�ina-
tion of the right of redemption. Ttzat if any of
such parcels now are or hereaPter become sub,�eot to
the provislona of said Soldier and Sailora Civil, �
, Relief Act or other Federal atatute, it ia agreed

that the provisions of this'contract shall be iim-
ited thereby and no act ahall be required to,be
performed contrary to the proviaions thereof.
3. That prior to the sale of the property acquired pureuant
to this agreement, the Gity of Lynwood w111 publish a notice oY
the proposed sale on each lndividual parcel once a week Por three
(3) consecutive weeks in a local newspaper.
4. That if prlor or subsequent to the execution of thia
, agreement it is•determined by the County of Lo3 Angeles that all
or any portion of the parcels included in eaid agreement are
nee�ed to eonform �ith the MasteraPlan of Highways of Los Angeles
, �County or any other publlc use by said County or cit� of Lynwood, .
said City �ill reserve and dedicate auch property or inte'rest
therein for said public use prior to the reconveyance to other
than the State of California.
