HomeMy Public PortalAbout2013-10 Resolution Approving App for 2013 Urban Henn Co Community Dev GrantMember Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION 2013-10 RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED APPLICATION FOR 2013 URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF SUBRECIPIENT AGREEMENT WITH URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY AND ANY THIRD PARTY AGREEMENTS WHEREAS, the city of Medina (the "City") is a municipal corporation, organized and existing under the laws of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the City, through execution of a Joint Cooperation Agreement with Hennepin County, is cooperating in the Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; and WHEREAS, the City, in partnership with Dominium (the "Developer"), has developed a proposal for the use of 2013 Urban Hennepin County CDBG funds. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Medina, Minnesota does hereby approve the following project for funding from the 2013 Urban Hennepin County CDBG Program and authorizes submittal of the proposal to Urban Hennepin County/Consolidated Pool: Activity Land Acquisition for Clydesdale Community Budget $300,000 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor and City Administrator -Clerk to execute the Subrecipient Agreement and any required Third Party Agreement on behalf of the City to implement the 2013 CDBG Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, should the final amount of FY2013 CDBG available to the City be different from the preliminary amount provided to the City, the City Council hereby authorizes the City Administrator to adjust the project budget to reflect an increase or decrease in funding. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City staff are hereby authorized to take action in support the Developer's efforts in pursuing grant opportunities, including drafting letters of support on behalf of the City and other similar activities. Resolution No. 2013-10 February 19, 2013 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that notwithstanding the foregoing, support from the City for grant applications for the potential project shall not be construed as land use approval and that the Developer shall obtain relevant land use approvals prior to development.
