Item: To discuss funding options for Jones Avenue as per City Councils' request
Explanation: This purpose of this agenda item is to obtain the City Council's recommendations for funding the
Jones Avenue water line replacement and re-paving of the road which is estimated to cost$1,200,000.
Currently,the Jones Avenue water line replacement project is budgeted in two funds, Water& Sewer Fund,
S570,000 and the SPLOST 2008 Fund, $630,000. The Water& Sewer Fund's budget includes a revenue line
item of$660,000 to cover the cost of the project with the proceeds being borrowed from the Georgia
Environmental Authority. The re-paving part of the Jones Avenue project is also budgeted in the SPLOST 2008
budget for$178,000.
