HomeMy Public PortalAbout10/26/1945Town of Gulf Stream, Florida. Minutes of the Meeting of the Town Commission held at the residence of the Mayor W.S. Webb, on Friday, October 26th,1945 at l.p.m. The meetings sch.eduled for April ,May,June,July,August,September were adjourned, there being no business to come before the Commission. Present: CImmissioners W.S.Webb and Wm.J.Bauer also present were Mr.C.Y.Byrd, Town Attorney and Mr. J.F. Riley representing Bessermer Properties. The Town Clerk presented a Balance Sheet and list of delinquents, which were approved. The Town Clerk re -jorted that Street Lighting should be in service in approximately 30 days. A discussion was held on Police and Fire Protection, also the matter of Garbage disposal. The Town Clerk was instr.cted to see about hiring a general maintenance man who could work at or oversee the above. Mr. Riley offered the use of one of the Bessermer Property Buildings at the North end of Town for use of police and Town Maintenance. Mr. C.Y.Byrd, Town Attorney, was authorized to contact Mr.M.M.DeWitt, Chairman of the Water Department of the City of Delray Beach, to see if it were possible to enter into a contract for water service to the Town of Gulf Stream. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. W.Johnston was appointed to act as Municipal Judge until further notice. It was agreed that another meetinn be held in aPproximately 30 days, to report on the above matters and at that time Mr.C.Y.Byrd, will submit Zoning Plans and a Building Code for discussion.
