A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF JULY 19, 2022, FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ESTIMATE OF COSTS,
AND AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICES FOR THE TIFFIN WELL #5 PUMP,
CONTROLS AND WATERMAIN PROJECT AND OPENING OF BIDS ON JULY 21, 2022
Whereas, Veenstra & Kimm, Inc., has prepared the Plans, Specifications and Contract
Documents for the construction of the Well #5 Pump, Controls and Watermain Project;
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa:
1. The date for the Public Hearing of the Project is set for July 19, 2022, at 7:00
p.m. and,
2. The date for the opening and reading of bids for the Project is set for July 21,
2022, at 2:00 p.m. and,
3. The date for consideration of bids for the Project by the City Council is set at
August 2, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. and will be acted upon at such time and place or at
such time and place as may then be set.
4. The City Council hereby directs the City Clerk to have published the Notice of
Hearing of the Contract Documents for the Project in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City, which publication shall be made at least once, not less than
four (4) and not more than twenty (20) days prior to the date of the said hearing.
5. The City Council hereby directs the City Clerk to have published the Notice to
Bidders of the bid letting for the Project by posting at least once, not less than
thirteen (13) and not more than forty-five (45) days prior to the date set for receipt
of bids, in each of the following three places: (i) in a relevant contractor plan room
service with statewide circulation; (ii) in a relevant construction lead generating
service with statewide circulation; and (iii) on an Internet site sponsored by either
the City or a statewide association that represents the City.
On the 5th day of July, 2022, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Limkemann introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2022-063, A RESOLUTION
SETTING THE DATE OF JULY 19, 2022, FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ESTIMATE OF COSTS, AND
AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICES FOR THE TIFFIN WELL #5 PUMP,
CONTROLS AND WATERMAIN PROJECT AND OPENING OF BIDS ON JULY 21,
2022 and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Orris.
Ayes: Olney, Orris, Schnedler, Limkemann, Havens.
Nays: None.
Absent: None.
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2022-063, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE
OF JULY 19, 2022, FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS,
FORM OF CONT CT, ESTIMATE OF COSTS, AND AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION
OF NOTICES FOR THE TIFFIN WELL #5 PUMP, CONTROLS AND WATERMAIN
PROJECT AND OPENING OF BIDS ON JULY 21, 2022 to be adopted and signified his
approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 5th day of July, 2022.
