A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUN-
CTL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, TO
CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION TO DETERHRINE WHETHER
OR NOT CERTAZN TERRITORY SHALL BE ANNEXED TO ,
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, AND FIXING A TIME AND
PLACE FOR HEARING IN CONNECTION THEREWITH,
AND ALSO A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE ELECTION
THEREOF.
�Be it resolved by the Citg Council of the City of Lynwood,
California, as follows:
That upon the 28th day oY March, 1941, a notice , signed
by twenty-two proponents being electors oY and residing in the
territory therein described, giving notice oY their intention
to circulate a petition for the annexation of the.territory
therein described to the said City of Lynwood, was si�ned.
That said notice contained the names of said proponents intend-
ing to circulate such petition and the specific boundaries of
the territory propoaed to be annexed in the form of a printed
statement not exceeding 500 words in length, of the reasons
for the proposed petition. That said notice�s published one
issue in the "Lynwood Presa," a weekly newspaper of legal ieaue,
printed and circulated within said City of Lynwood, and also
circulated within the territory described in said notice. That
eaid publication was made March 28, 1941. That due prooP of
the said publication of said notice, together with said origi-
nal notice, wae filed with the City Clerk oY the said City of
Lynwood upon March 29, 1941.
That after the expiration of twenty-one days from said pub-
lication of said notice, said proponents did circulate written
t petitiona for the annexation oP the territory described in said I
j,--notice, among the resident votera of said territory, which said
petition eaks that the City Council of the City of Lynwood, Calif-

ornia call a special election to su�bmit to the electora the
queation oY whether or not the hereinafter described territory
ahall be annexed to, ineorporated in, and made a part of the said
City of Lynwood. That said petitions have been signed by more
than one-fourth in number oP the qualiPied electora residing
, within the territory hereinafter described. That said petitions.
are now on file in the of£ice oP the Clty Clerk of said City of
. LYnwood.
NO�Y, THEREFORE, be it further resolved that the lande and .
. .territory described in said notice of intention•to circulate,
and the lands and territory described in said petitiona, and
. whieh said lande and territory are so proposed to be annexed to '
the City of Lynwood, Galifornia,.are as followss
Beginning at the interaection of the Weaterly line
of Bu111s Road with the Westerly proIongation of the
IVortherly line oP Carlin Avenue (33 feet wide), as
- ehown,on County Surveyor's Map No. 8-120, Sheet 6,
said point of beginning being on the Easterly bound-
ary line of the City of Lynwood, as said boundary
line exiated Februa.ry 10, 1941; thence Easterly along
said prolonged line to the Eesterly line of Bullis
Road; thence Eaeterly along the Northerly line of said
Carlin Avenue to the Westerly line of Caresa Street
(40 feet wide, as shown on said County Surneyor's Map;
thence Northerly along the Westerly line.of Caress
Street to the 5outherly line of Tract No. 11378, as
shown on Map recorded in Book 203, pages 27 and 28 oY
A�aps, Recorde of Los Angeles County, California; thence
Northerly along the Easterly line of said Tract No.
11378 and its Northerly prolongation to a point 30 feet
Northerly from the Northerly line of said Tract No.
11�98, said point being on the Southerly boundary line .
of the City of Lynwood ae said boundary line existed
February 10, 1941; thence Westerly along aaid boundary
line and Pollowing the eame in all ita various courses
to the point of beginnin�.
That said City Council of the_City of Lynwood does hereby
designate the name of such territory proposed to be annexed as
�'Broadacres".
That said City Council of the City�of Lynwood does
hereby declare ita intention to call a.Special Election to be
held on the 30th day of June, 1941, for the purpose of submit-
ting to the electora reaiding.in said terrltory proposed by

such petition to be annexed, the queation as to whether or not
said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made
,. a part of said City of Lynwood.
� That aaid Ci`ty Council of the City of Lynwood herebq
fixes the 3rd day oP June, 1941, at the hour of 8:C0 o'clock
P.M., in the. Couneil Chamber of the City Hall, 1I332 Pla2a
Street, City of Lynwood, California, ae the day, hour and place
fixed to hear any ob,jections to the proposed annea;ation. At
• any time later than the hour set for hearing,ob,jectiona
, to the proposed election, any owner of property within the
, territory proposed to be annexed may make written proteste
agAinst the proposed election. Such proteats must be in writ-
. ing and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of
the property aYfected thereby and the loca.tion and area oP such
property in general terms.
That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood shall certify
to the adoption of thia Resolution and cause same to be pub—,
liehed two times 1n the Lynwood Press, a newapaper of general
circulation, published and circulated in the City of Lynwood.
