Minutes of the Town Commission held on November 29,1946.
Meetings scheduled for June, July, August, September,0ctober
were adjourned, there being no business to home before the
meeting.
Present: Commissioners: W.S.Webb, L.Seton Lindsay and Wm.d.Bauer,
Invited: ".Y.Byrd and J.r'. Riley
The minutes of the meetin held on May 2nd were read and approved.
The Commissioners engaging E.W.Cooper as policeman, his salary to
be on year round basis when using his own car and pa, ring expenses
of operating his car, at $250.00 per month. If and when the Town
purchases a Town Police Car his salary would then be $200.00 a
month and the Town to take care of the upkeep of the car.
The.question of garbage collection, was tabled.
Mr. J.F.Riley of Bessermer properties offered the use of their
new sycle bar mower for trimming grass on sides of boulevard. The
Town to pay colts of man operating and gasoline and oil.
Mr. J.F. Riley of Bessermer properties gave the Town permission to
cut down trees on two bends in the road on the north end of Town.
{ This will open up the road and reduce two hazardous turnings.
The Town Clerk was instructed to notify the State Road Department
at Ft. Lauderdale to see if they would out down designated trees.
The Commissioners approved an increase in salary for the Town Clerk
from $20.00 per month to $50.00 per month commencing December lst,1946.
A discussion was held on Water Supply for the Town. It was hoped that
a twenty year franchise could be negotitated with the City of Delray
Beach.
A form of questionaire was submitted to the Commissioners, which they
approved of, such questionaire to be mailed to each taxpayer in Town
asking if t:iey would like the Town to purchase a Fire Truck, Police
Car and how long they would like a policeman to be engaged by the
Town.
The Commissioners instructed the Town Clerk to find out the cost of
purchase, installing and ,operating of Traffic Lights. Lights to be
placed at Bath & Tennis "lub, Gulf Stream Golf Club and Gulf Stream
`rivate School.
It was approved that W. F. Wilcox be appointed as Municipal Judge
for a period of one year starting December 1st and that his compen-
sation be $ per day when actually holding court.
