Seton Lindsay Vice Mayor Commissioner N.J. Clarke Commissioner S.B. Iglehart Town Clerk Commissioner Wm.J. Bauer Mayor Lindsay presiding; Town Clerk Bauer acting as Secretary. The minutes of the meeting held on November 13th,1954 were read and upon motion, unanimously ratified and approved. Town Clerk Bauer reported to the meeting the following bank balances as of December 10th,1954. General Account Water Department Depreciation Account $16,516.11 6,803.30 2,568.04 Town Clerk Bauer reported he estimated about 80% of current taxes had been paid. The Commissioners unanimously approved payments made by checks numbered 1745 to 1782 inclusive on the General Fund amounting to $1539.15 and by checks numbered 3.7 to 19 inclusive on the Water Department Account amounting to $1,717.73 The Commissioners unanimously approved the appointment of William J. Bach as a policeman for the Town of Gulf Stream who had been sworn in by Mayor Lindsay. William J. Bach being privately employed by Mrs. Donald B. Me Louth and Mr. L.C. Quackenbush, but having same powers as any other policeman sworn in by the Town Commission. Necessary repairs and alterations of water mains, fire hydrants and cut off valves as authorized by Mayor Lindsay amounting to $336.00 was approved. The Commissioners present were in favor of purchasing by the Water Department of U.S.Governmant Bonds, Series J or K at a cost mf price of approximately $3700.00, subject to approval of Commissioner Roig. The Commissioners unanimously approved issuance of permit to the Gulf Stream Bath & Tennis Club for enlarging their Cocktail Lounge. Work to be completed within two weeks. The Commissioners unanimously approved issuance of permit for con- struction of Utility Shed at the residence of Mr. C.L. Langlotz subject to his getting the approval of close by neighbor Mr. W. Winslow. Commissioners present were presented with copy of Himes & Himes Audit report for the year ending September 30,195+' . The Commissioners approved the purchase of 1001 of Red Reflector Tape for use on certain poles, trees and Street Sign Posts. It was unanimously approved that a speed of 35 miles an hour be approved. Motorists driving 40 miles an hour should be stopped and warned. Drivers driving in excess of 40 miles an hour to furnish cash bond of $25.00 for appearance in Court on 1 week day, to be selected later. Commissioner Clarke was appointed a committee of One to contact Policeman and County Constable W. Bruce Wheelwr in reference to an 8 hour patrol at night for the winter months. Commissioner Bauer was instructed to write the State Road Department with reference to removal of several dead pine trees on AlA which could be a road hazard.
