COUNCIL MINUTES
INDUCTION MEETING
APRIL 15, 1991 - 10:00 A. M.
The induction Meeting of the Bal Harbour Village Council was held
on Monday, April 16, 1991 at the Bal Harbour Village Hall. The
meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Mayor Estelle Stern
and the roll was called. Those present were:

RESOLUTION OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE CERTIFYING VILLAGE
ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
3. Oaths of Office: James E. Boggess - District 4/ Estelle
Stern - District 2
The Village Clerk administered the Oath of Office to the newly
elected officials.
4. Appointment of Temporary Meeting Chairman: A motion was
offered by Asst. Mayor Blank and seconded by Councilman Hirschl
that Councilwoman Stern be appointed Temporary Meeting Chairman.
The motion carried unanimously (5-0).
5. Election of Mayor: A motion was offered by Councilman
Taplin that Councilwoman Stern serve as Mayor.
Councilwoman Stern offered that Councilman Blank serve as Mayor.
Councilman Blank declined and seconded motion that Councilwoman
Stern serve as Mayor. The motion carried unanimously(5-0).
Councilwoman Stern was thusly elected Mayor.

6. Election of Assistant Mayor: A motion
Councilman Taplin that Councilman Blank serve
Councilman Blank declined.
A motion was offered by Councilman Blank and
Stern that Councilman Andrew Hirschl serve as
there was no discussion the motion carried
Councilman Hirschl was elected Asst. Mayor.
7. Oaths of Office - Mayor and Assistant Mayor: The Village
Clerk administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Stern and Asst.

8. Selection of Regular Meeting Date: Councilman Boggess
offered a motion, which was seconded by Asst. Mayor Hirschl,
that the Council meeting date remain the third Tuesday of the
month at 9:30 a.m. The motion carried unanimously (5-0).
9. Adjourn: There being no further business the Induction
Meeting was adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
