SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTIONS CONFIRMING APPOINTMENTS TO THE
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION, PLANNING COMMISSION
AND TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to :
1. Adopt Resolution No. 18-5342 confirming appointment of Donna Georgina and
Kristel Haddad to the Parks and Recreation Commission with terms ending June
30, 2020 (Attachment "A");
2 . Adopt Resolution No . 18-5343 confirming appointment of Serge Haddad and Tom
O'Leary to the Planning Commission with terms ending June 30, 2020 (Attachment
"B");
3 . Adopt Resolution No . 18-5344 confirming appointment of Noel Palmieri and
Ousama Nimri to the Transportation and Public Safety Commission with term
ending June 30, 2019 (Attachment "D").
BACKGROUND:
1. During the month of April, 2018 , the City Commissioner seat vacancies were
advertised in the City Manager's Report , City's social media, and website inviting
application of el igible persons.
2 . By the deadline of April 30, 2018 , the City Clerk's Office had received six (6)
applications for the position of Parks & Recreation Commissioner, five (5) applications
for the position of the Planning Commissioner, and seven (7) applications for the
position of the Transportation and Public Safety Commissioner.

3 . On May 25, 2018, the City Commissioner Recru itment Ad Hoc Comm ittee (i.e.,
Councilmember Chavez and Councilmember Yu) interviewed eight applicants .
4. On June 19 , 2018, the City Commissioner Recruitment Appointment Ad Hoc
recommended to City Council to reappoint the incumbent commissioners .
ANALYSIS:
Pursuant to Section 11 03 of the City Charter, members of all commissions and boards of
the City shall be appointed by the City Council and shall serve at the pleasu re of said City
Council.
City Council is requested to confirm appointments to the Planning, Transportation and
Public Safety, Parks and Recreation commission . If appointed , the appointees w ill receive
their Oath of Office at the City Council Meeting of July 3, 2018. Appointments of the new
commissioners in July will ensure that the Commissions will be able to continue with
business as usual.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Adoption of the resolutions confirming appointments to City Commissions will promote the
City's Strategic Goal of Good Governance .
FISCAL IMPACT:
. This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 C ity Budget.

AND RECREATION COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Donna Georgina and Kristel Haddad is hereby appointed to the
Parks and Recreation Commission of City of Temple City . Said term to expire on June
30,2020.
SECTION 2 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution .

SECTION 1 . That Serge Haddad and Tom O'Leary is hereby appointed to the
Planning Commission of City of Temple City. Said term to expire on June 30 , 2020.
SECTION 2 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolut ion .

SECTION 1. That Noel Palmieri and Ousama Nimri is hereby appointed to the
Transportation and Public Safety Commission of the City of Temple City. Said term to
expire on June 30, 2020.
SECTION 2 . The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution.
