SUBJECT: RESOLUTION NO. 18-5332 APPOINTING THE POSITION OF
ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR AS CITY TREASURER
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Cou ncil is req uested to adopt Resolution No . 18-5332 (Atta chment "A "),
appointing the position of Administrative Services Director as City Treasurer .
BACKGROUND:
1. Th e position of Administrative Services Director has been performing the duties of
th e C it y T reas urer since 2005 .
2 . On April 3 , 2012 , the City Cou nc il adopted Resolution No . 12-4808 appointing
former Administrati ve Services Director, Tracey Hause as City Treasurer.
3 . Ms . Hause has retired from the C ity, requiring the appointment of a new City
Treasurer.
ANALYSIS:
The pos ition of Administrative Services Dire ctor requ ires extensive knowledge , skills
and abilities for the man agement of th e City's finances , incl ud i ng managing the City 's
cas h flow and budget projections . For this reason , m ost municipalities appoint this
position to perform as the City Treasu rer. To avoid adopting a new resolution each
t ime the position is fill ed , it is recommended that the appointment be designated to the
position as opposed to an individu al.

CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
This action will further the City's Strategic Goal to promote Good Governance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact of this action to the City 's Budget.

A RESOLUTION OF T HE CITY COUNCIL OF T HE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY APPOINTING THE POSITION OF
ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR AS CITY T REASUR ER
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE ,
DETERMINE AND ORDER:
WHEREAS , Section 708 of the City Charter of the City of Temp le City provides for the
appointive office of C ity Treasu rer; and
WHEREAS , the Adm inistrative Services Director position has been acting in the City
Treasure r role since 2005 .
WHEREAS , on April 3 , 2012 , the City Council adopted Reso lution 12-4808 appointing
former Administrative Services D irecto r Tracey Hause as City T re asurer ; and
WHEREAS , upon reti rement of Ms . Hause from the City earl ier th is yea r, the duties of C ity
Treasurer were assumed by the In terim Admin istrat ive Services Director; and
WHEREAS, as the Chief Fina ncia l Officer of the City , th e Admin istrative Services Director's
office controls the City 's cash f low an d manages all aspects of the City's finances .
NOW, THEREFORE , the C ity Council of the C ity of Temple C ity does hereby reso lves as
follows :
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby appoints the position of Administrative Services
Director to perform the duties of the City Treasurer as prescribed by the City Charter, the genera l
law of the State of California , and any other appl icable fede ral , state and local laws, rules or po lic ies
as may be di rected by the Ci ty Counci l.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adopt ion of this resolut ion .
