A RESOLUTIOPI OF T� CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
' LYNG�OOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDyR STREET_ �
LIGHTIi�IG SERVICE ON CFRTAIAT ST£cF,ETS IN TFIE CITY
OF LYN{700D FOR A PERIOD BEGINNIVG dULY 1, 1938,
AND EiVDING JUi�IE 30th, 1939.
Be it resolved b9 the City Co�:ncil of the City of Lynwood
as follows:- ,
SECTION 2. That the public interest and convenience re-
' quire and it is the intention o£ the City Council of the City o£ Lyn-
wood to ths furnishing of,, for a period commencing July .1, 1938,
• and ending Sime 30, 1939, the service nec=ssary to maintain and il-
l�inate by means of electrical energ,y the suspended electric street
.lamps of 250 and 600 candle power and the 250 candle power lamps on
ornamental standards in certain streets in the Cit2 of Lynwood �vithin
, the district described in Section 2 hereof and to be known as Lighting
Maintenance District No. 11 of the City of L,ynrrood, in accordance with
• plana and specifications therefor, to be prepared, furnished and filed
. .
with the Cit,p Clerk of *ha City of L,ynwood as hereinafter provided.
SECTION 2, That the exterior bocndaries of the district ,
to be benefited by said improvement and to be assessed to pa,Y the
costs and expenses thereof and to be lmown as the assesssent district,
are described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 2, Block 1 of Tract
No, 5418, as per map recorded in Book 59, Pa�e 42 of Maos, R=cords of
Los Angeles County, Califoraia; thence west along the nortnerly l.ine of
said lot and its westerly orolongation to the easterly line oi the
Soutnern Pacific Railwa,� Company's Private Right of �Na3; thence southerl�
along said right of way line to the southweat corner o£.Lot "A" as shown
in Tract 6066, Book 64,, Page 24; of Maos, Los 6ngelea County Records;
thence east in a diTect line along the sonth line of said tract to its
intersection with the south line of the Pacific Railwav Right of 19ay;

SECTION 3 . That the said pr000sed improvement. ie hereby
referred to the City Eng�neer and said City Engineer is hereby directed
to make and file �itn the City C2erk of said CitV, a report in writing
presenting the £ollowing: ,
(a) Plans and specifications for the proposed improvement.
(b), An estimata of the coat of sa:d improvement for the
period of time specifiad in the Resolution of Intentibn. �
(c) A diagram showing the assessment district above referred
to and also the boundaries and dimensions of the respective sub-divisions
of land within said district, each of said anbdivisions being given a
separate number on said diagram. '
. (d) A proposed assessment o£ the total,amoi:nt of the costs
and eapenses o£ the proposed improvement upon the several subdivisione of
land in sa.id district in proporation to the estimated benefits to be re- .
ceived bv sai� s1:b-divisions. Said assessment shall refer to such sub-
divisions upon said diagrcam bv the respective m:mber thereon aid it shall
show the names of the owners, if known; otherwise designating them as
unr:nown. . . . . ,
SECTION 4, That the said contemplated impvovement sha11 be had
and taken under an Act of the Le�islature of the State of California
designated "An Act to provide for the maintenance by muaicipalities of
lighting s.ystems along pub].ic streeta, allevs and other publ.ic places and
for the lighting thereof by electric current, gas or other ,illuminating
agent; and for the assessment o£ the costs and expenaes thereof upon the
property benefited and the manner of collec8ing such assessments" commonly
knov+n as the "Street Lighting Act of 1919" and.amendments thereto, aproroved
May 16,1519: "
