A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO -0RPER STREET
LIGHTING SEAVICE ON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY
OF LYNE900D FOR A PERIOD BEGINNING JULY 1, 1939,
AND EIQDING NNE 30th> 1930.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as followsi-
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience
require and it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Lynwood to order the furnishing of, for a period
commencing Julq 1, 1939, and ending June 30, 1940, the
service neceasary to mairitain and illuminate by means oP
electrical energy the suspended electric street lampa of
250 and 600 candle power and 250 candle power lamps on
ornamental standards in certain streets in the City of
Lynwood within the district described in Section 2 here-
of and to be known as Lighting ll4aintenance Diatrict No. ]L2
of the City of Lynwood, in accordance with plans and apeci-
fications therefor, to be prepared, furnished and Piled
with the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood as hereinafter
provided.
SECTION 2. That the exterior boundaries of the dis-
trict to be benefited by said improvement and to be asseas-
ed to pay the costs and expenses thereoY and to be.known ae
the aesessment district, are described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 12,
Block 1 of Tract No. 5418, as per map record-
ed in Book 59, Page 42 oP Maps, Records of '
Los Angeles County, California; thence north-
erly along the westerly line oP said lot to
its northerly prolongation to the northerly

boundary line of said Lot as eame exists on
June 30th, 1939; thence westerly and south-
erly along said boundary line and following
the same in all ite variou"s couraes to 1ts �
interaection with the westerly prolongation
to the southerly line of Lot "A" of Tract No.

Page 24 of Maps, Recorde of eaid County;
thence easterly along said last described
line and easterly prolongation to the south-
erly line of the Pacific Railway Right of

SECTION 3. That the said proposed improvement is hereby
neferred to the City Engineer and said. City Engineer is hereby
directed to make and file with the City Clerk of said City, a
report in writing presenting the folloa�ing:
(a) Plana and specifications for the proposed _
improvement.
(b) An estimate of.the cost of said improvement
for the period of time apeciPied in the Resolution oY Intention.
(c) A diagram showing the assessment district
above referred to and also the boundaries and dimensions of the
respective sub-divisions ° iven n a separate
said sub-divisions being g
(d) A proposed assesament of the total amount of
_s_
of the costs and expenses of the proposed improvement upon the
several sub-divisions of land in said district in proportion
to the esti�ated benefits to be received by said sub-divisions.
Said asseasment shall refer to such sub-divisions upon said
diagram by the respective number thereon and it shall show the
names oY the owners, if known, otherwise designating them as
unknown.
� SECTION 4. That the said contemplated improvement shall
be had and taken under an Act of the Legislature of the State .of
California designated '�An Act to provide for the maintenance by
municipalitiea of lighting systems along public streeta, alleys
and other public places and for the lighting thereoP by electric
current, gas or other illuIIinating agent; and for the asseasment
of the costa and expenses thereoY upon the property benePited
and the manner of collecting such assesamenta" commonly kno�n
as the "Street Lighting Act of 1919" and amendments thereto,
approved May 16, 1919.
