HomeMy Public PortalAbout1228 (04-15-40) � . . . . . . 1 v'V� . . . � RESOLUTION N0. 122 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARIPdG THE HESULT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN .- SAID CITY OF LYId'NOOD ON APRIL 9TH, 1940. - - - - � - - - - Be it resolved by the City Council of ths City of Lyn- wood as follorJS: , WHEREAS, the General ydunicipal Election vaas held and . conducted in the City of Lynv�ood, State of California,, on the 9th.day of April, 1940; as required by laiv, and WHEREAB, it appears that Notice of said Election was duly and legally given, that voting precincts r�ere properly established, that election officers were appointed and elec- to tion supplies furnished, that sample ballot� viere ma.iled/all aualified registered voters in the City of Lynwood, together the with copies of/ proposed Ordinances, that polling places cards ivere`mailed to all registered voters-and that in a11 resnects said election was held•and conducted and the votes cast thereat / received and canvassed, and the returns thereof, made a.nd declared in time, form a.nd manner as requir�ed by the General Lativa of the State of California governing elections in Cities of the Fifth and Sixth Class, and in further compliance with the Political Code of said State, and , WHEREAS,. the City Council of tne City of Lynwood met a.t the Council Chamber of the City Hall on It4onday, the 15th day of April, 1940, to canvass the r'eturns of said election and in- stall the nev�ly elected officers, and to canvass the returns of the propositions submitted to the qualified registered electors, as a result of which the Council finds that the number of votes cast, the na.mes of the persons voted for, the propositions voted on and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated. � NO�V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of - 2 - the City of Lynwood, as follovrs: That said regular municipal election was held and con- ducted in the City oF L,t:�•f�ood, on_Tuesday, the 9th day o£ April, • 1940, in time, form and manner a.s required by lac+;. Thnt there were six voting precincts established ior � the purpose of holding said election, consi�ting of a consoli- dation of the regular election precincts established for Yiold- ing general State and County elections,. as follows: Consolidated Voting Precinct A, consisting of Lynwood City Precincts 3, 4 and 5.. . Consolidated Voting Preclnct B, consisting Lynwood City Precincts 1, 2 and 14 Consolidated Voting Precinet C, consisting of L,ynwood City Precincts 6`, 7 and 15.
