RESOLUTION DESIGNATING BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR AS BOROUGH
REPRESENTATIVE IN GRIEVANCE PROCEEDINGS
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") is a party to collective bargaining
agreements with ASFCME Local 3850 requesting the Borough's white collar employees,
and Teamsters Local 97 representing the Borough's school crossing guards collectively
the "contracts and
WHEREAS, said collective bargaining agreements each contain a grievance procedure;
and
WHEREAS, each grievance procedure contains a step at which the Mayor and Council
or its representative is to serve as the ajudicatory body; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have determined that designating the Borough's
Business Administrator to serve in the place of the Mayor and Council at the appropriate
step of the contracts' grievance procedures best serves the interest of the Borough, and
will facilitated more consistent, efficient labor-management dispute resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret that the Borough's Business Administrator Nicholas Goldsack, is hereby
appointed as the Borough's representative to serve as the ajudicatory body in place of the
Mayor and Council at (i) step two (2) of the grievance procedure set forth in the
collective bargaining agreement between the Borough and ASFCME Local 3850 for
white collar employees; and (ii) step three (3) of the grievance procedure set forth in the
collective bargaining agreement between the Borough and Teamsters Local 97 for school
crossing guards.
BE, IT, FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to
the respective representative of ASFCME Local 3850 and Teamsters Local 97.
