CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.2013-86
RECOGNIZING ROBERT GEORGE JOHNSTONE
FOR HIS LIFE-SAVING ACTIONS ON APRIL 23, 2013
WHEREAS, this award is presented to Robert George Johnstone for his life-saving
actions on April 23, 2013. Mr. Johnstone witnessed a traffic accident from his office where two
semi -trucks hit head-on in the intersection of Highway 55 and Willow Drive; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Johnstone responded to the scene and assisted one of the drivers who
was unconscious and not breathing. He assisted in removing the driver and starting CPR on the
victim until emergency responders arrived on the scene; and
WHEREAS, the victim's breathing and heartbeat had returned before he was transported
to the hospital. The victim survived this incident due to the actions of Mr. Johnstone; and
WHEREAS, The City of Medina and the Medina Police Department recognize and thank
Mr. Johnstone for his life-saving actions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Medina
acknowledges and thanks Robert Johnstone for his life-saving actions on April 23, 2013.

Martinson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:

And the following voted against same: (Absent: Weir)
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
