GREENCASTLE BOARD OF WORKS
SPECIAL SESSION
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2003 1:00 P.M.
CITY HALL
The Greencastle Board of Works met in Special Session Friday, October 31, 2003, 1:00
p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Michael called the meeting to Order at 1:05 p.m. On the Roll
Call, the following were found to be present: Sue Murray and George Murphey.
Notice of Award to Feutz Construction for the Westside Project in the amount of
$564,665.65 was approved on a motion by Sue Murray, seconded by George Murphey.
Vote was unanimous.
Engineer Morrow stated he added a line stating the contractor is to meet with the City
Engineer to discuss proposed changes to contract time and completion date. Engineer
Morrow stated he would rather start next year instead of starting to dig now with winter
so close. City Attorney Hardwick stated a contract still has to be signed that is agreeable
to all parties. It was noted that a Pre - Construction meeting will be held November 6,
2003, 1:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Notice of Award for Old City Hall Demolition was rejected on a motion by Mayor
Michael stating there was a procedural error in the bidding process, seconded by George
Murphey. Vote was unanimous. These bids will be readvertised.
Engineer Morrow stated there will be a preconstruction meeting Monday, November 10,
2003, regarding the demolition of the Water Tower. Demolition could begin Monday
afternoon. .
Sue Murray questioned piles of brush left around town and asked if the Street Department
runs brush routes continually. Street Commissioner Miles stated the Street Department
runs brush in the spring or after a storm, but does not run continually.
Motion to adjourn made by George Murphey, seconded by Sue Murray. Vote was
unanimous.
