Dear Mayor Evans:
ROB -T E. SMITH, P.E.
/ P. O. Box 626
Donnelly, Idaho 83615
Ph. (208) 325-8755
It is with considerable regret that we must give you
----ou-r resignation, --effective this date, from our duties
as city engineer and building official.
The recent opinion from the county attorney that we
have a conflict of interest and have been in violation
of Idaho Code 67-6506 has brought about this action. At
no time have we had any intention of doing anything
unlawful, therefore we wish to avoid any further such
allegations.
We feel that it is necessary to completely separate
ourselves from any public position so that there will
not be any implication of an obligation on either of
our parts in the future. Also we feel that if we are
disconnected from the city then you may have a better
opportunity to obtain a replacement.
We shall continue to operate our office in Donnelly
remain available to you, if you so desire, to serve
you in engineering matters on a consulting basis from
job to, job, especially thru the coming transition period
until another engineer can be hired.
We have enjoyed working with -you and appreciate your
cooperation. We, hope that our activities over the past
five years nave been beneficial to the city and that we
may be of service to you again in the future.
Respectfully,
SMITH & KANGAS ENGINEERS INC.
