AN ORDINANCE
DESGINATING STOP INTERSECTIONS
WHEREAS, I.C. 9- 21 -1 -3 grants the City of Greencastle the authority to designate
intersections as stop intersections, which require all vehicles to stop at one or more of the
entrances to the intersections: and
WHEREAS, said statute requires the adoption of an ordinance designating stop
intersections; and
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle adopted Ordinance 2000 -4 An Ordinance
Designating Stop Intersections setting out all stop intersections within the City of Greencastle,
which ordinance was amended by Ordinance 2002 -18 and 2004 -37; and
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle has determined that stop signs are warranted on
certain streets where they intersect with railroad crossings.
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City
of Greencastle. Indiana:
That Ordinance 2000 -4 An Ordinance Designating Stop Intersections, as amended,
is hereby further amended to add the following stop intersections for the City of
Greencastle:
Street Name
Barnaby Mill Road
Liberty Street
Columbia Street
Gillespie Street
Intersect with
Railroad Crossing
Railroad Crossing
Railroad Crossing
Railroad Crossing
Number of Stop Signs

2. That all other intersections designated in Ordinance 2000 -4, as amended, remain in
full force and effect.
