GREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL
REGULAR SESSION
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2003 7:00 P.M. CITY HALL
The Greencastle Common Council met in Regular Session Wednesday, November 12,
2003, 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Michael called the meeting to Order at 7:00 p.m.
On the Roll Call, the following were found to be present: Councilor Roach, Councilor
Hammer, Councilor Sedlack, Councilor Liechty and Councilor Lanie.
There were no Public Petitions or Comments.
Fire Chief Newgent stated a report from the Safety Officer is attached to his report.
Acting Police Chief Sutherlin stated the police department is going to take bids on
insulation in the attic of the addition and paving and striping of the parking lot to finish
the Police Station.
Engineer Morrow stated there was a procedural error in the bidding process for the
demolition of old City Hall. This will be rebid.
Engineer Morrow reported that a preconstruction meeting was held for the West Side
Project. The boring under the railroad will probably be done yet this year, but the project
will not start until next spring.
Water Tower demolition has started and should be completed by Thanksgiving.
Engineer Morrow asked for a volunteer from Council to meet with the group for MS4.
Councilor Sedlack asked what MS4 stands for. Engineer Morrow stated it is for
Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System. Councilor Sedlack has agreed to be Council
representative at the MS4 meetings.
Street Commissioner Miles stated the parking lots were not resurfaced November 8` and
9' due to weather. Wabash Asphalt will try to do this coming weekend, November 15
and 16 but if weather does not permit, they will not be done this year.
Cemetery Superintendent Robinson stated income for the Cemetery was $24,000.00 +
this month — one of the biggest months the Cemetery has ever had.
Wastewater Superintendent Neese stated the plant is running well and they are giving lots
of tours — even had a group from China to look at the new plant.
