HomeMy Public PortalAbout1975.08.20 Letter about Dog Pound on Airport LandDEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION NORTHWEST REGION FAA BUILDING KING COUNTY INT'L AIRPORT SEATTLE, WASHINGTON 98108 August 20, 1975 Mr. Robert E. Smith City Engineer Box M McCall, Idaho 83638 Dear Mr. Smith: V WT es- W IiI 4c i sT'47E5 OF As discussed with you by phone today, we have reviewed your proposal to construct a 20' x 30' building to be used for a city dog pound, on the McCall Airport. The State System Plan shows the possibility of the air- port developing into a basic transport airport, requiring a 500 foot primary surface. In this event the structure would penetrate the 7:1 transitional surface and could then require removal. Based on the above, we do not recommend the building be erected as marked on the Airport Layout Plan. A more acceptable location is the Northeast area of the airport east of the crushed aggregate stockpile provided it would not conflict with any future building plans you may have. We do not object to locating the dog pound on the airport as it will only occupy a small space and is a compatible use. The only concern is that it not conflict with your future capabilities and thereby cause you additional cost someday. Please call if you have any questions. Sincerely, Robert O. Brown.
