Dorris of McCall to construct facilities to provide commercial aeronautical services on McCall Airport. The facilities will be located on an acre of land at the northeast corner of the airport property. We understand the City Council and the Airport Commission are aware of Mr. Dorris' request and plan to execute a lease upon receiving our concurrence. PVIATION ATE5 OF, The proposal, including a scaled drawing of the facilities and location have been reviewed. The location of the proposed aircraft parking apron is within the primary surface and clear zone of a dirt runway now indi- cated on the approved Airport Layout Plan. This landing area is seldom used except in the winter by ski -equipped aircraft. In addition, the usable area is extremely short for the altitude and is very marginal for operational safety of any aircraft. We offer no objection to the construction of the facilities indicated at the location shown in the request from Mr. Dorris provided the use of the dirt strip is discontinued, the strip is abandoned, and the Airport Layout Plan revised to indicate it no longer exists. If you have any questions, please contact me immediately at (206) 767-2620. Sincerely, SAMUEL F. AUSTIN Chief, Airports Programs Administration Branch, ANW-660 cc: Mr. William H. Dorris Mr. Robert H.
