Feasiblity Rpt. & Calling Public Hearing Tuckborough & Hunter FarmersMember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA • RESOLUTION NO.2014-14 RESOLUTION RECEIVING FEASIBILITY REPORT AND CALLING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON TUCKBOROUGH AND HUNTER FARMS ADDITION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND LEVYING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR SAME WHEREAS, a feasibility report has been prepared by Steve Scherer as the City's Public Works Director regarding a street improvement project on Tuckborough and Hunter Farms Addition; and WHEREAS, the project consists of overlay and shouldering work in the areas described in the report; and WHEREAS, the report provides information regarding whether the project is necessary, cost-effective and feasible. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the city council of the city of Medina, as follows: 1. The feasibility report is hereby accepted and the project is determined to be necessary, cost-effective and feasible. 2. The project shall be constructed using the City's 2014 materials bids for the overlay portions of the work. 3. The City Council shall consider the making of such improvements in accordance with the feasibility report and assessing benefited properties in accordance with the city's special assessment policy and pursuant to Minn. Stat., Chapter 429. The estimated total cost of the project is as follows: Tuckborough and Hunter Farms Addition $282,694 4. Public hearings to consider the making of such improvement and the levying of special assessments related thereto shall be held at 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers at Medina city hall on the following dates: Tuckborough and Hunter Farms Addition April 1, 2014 5. City staff is authorized and directed to prepare plans and specifications for making the project. Resolution No. 2014-14 March 4, 2014 6. City staff is directed to prepare the appropriate notices for the improvement hearings and assessment hearings and to cause the proper published and mailed notices to be given for the public hearings as required by law and in accordance with the above schedule. 7. The amount of the project to be specially assessed against benefited properties in accordance with the city's special assessment policy and Minn. Stat. Chapter 429 is as follows: Tuckborough and Hunter Farms Addition $141,347 8. The city clerk, with the assistance of city staff, shall forthwith calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for each such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land within the area affected without regard to cash valuation and shall file a copy of the proposed assessment in the clerk's office at city hall.
