City of Zynwood, Californi-a� shall be as �'ollov✓s, to wit:' I , The Chief of'Police is the ^hief ,�eeutive officer . of tYie police. Tepartment, and_ �is, char v�i th and re- � sponsible fcr the execution of all laws; ordinances, gov- erning the territory within the Hity of I,ynv�ood an6 the execution of these Rules an@ Re which are;to gov- ern the Police Departrilent, and may, from time to time,, make • and issue supplemental ord_ers to these�2ules an6, Regulations, provided however, that they are not in conYlict there�rith. T. T � . In the�event of the absence of the Chief of Police; the I,ieutenant of Police shall ass�ie and, b'e cested with the :� � authority and responsibility of the'CYiief �of PoYice. . The`Lieu.tenant o� Police shall be in charge of and maintain a:bureau of records and identificatiori, and all re- 3 ports, oitations, siuned complaints, etc., shall be immedi- ately turned into this bureau'for the purpose of property '• classifying and filing the same. • III . (a) Although the members of the sid d.epartment are by these.rules and re,ulations, written orders and schedules �i the said. police, departroent relieved at certain hours from thc actual perf a�mance of their assigned duties on ordinanry occ�- sions, yet they are held to be on duty at all times, and�must be prepared, while relieved 2s aforesaid, to act immadiately upcn notice by proper authority that their services are require�;. (b) No member of the said.police department shall be „_ absent from �uty vaithout leave _of abs.en�.gu�.r_Ot4�t�lf�r��'•6f P�irce. VII All members of the police department are required to speak the�truth 'at all times whether un�.er oath or not. In cases, tivhereby the rules and regulations, they are not.al- lowed to divulge the facts of any case within their know- ledge, they shall say nothing. nio member of the said police department shall communicate to any person any infonnation which may enable him.to dispose of m secrete any goods or othe.rvaluable things; stolen or otherwise obtained unlav,�fully, nor shall he.communicate any information concerning any special orders he may have reeeived, except with the per- mission and at•the direetion of his superiors in office, and no infermation dontained in the.•rocords;:ef the saicl d.epartment shall be given out by anyone•connected with " , the said department, except by direct order of the Chief �' Police, the Lieutenant of�Police in.his_absence, orby due process of la•�. (b} Any member of the said police department shall be guilty of an offen$e under these rules and reo lations, written orders anr'._ sch�ed.ules, f� failure on his or her part to report the loss of any equipment, to the Chief a� Police, either orally or in writing, which has be�n issued to him or used by him which is the property of tha Oity of Lynwsod. {c) Any met�ber of the said police department, lee.�-ing the department either by resignation or dismissal, shall firsti surrender his badge ane equi�rnent belonging to the City of Lynweod for which he sha11 receive a receipt irom the one to which the articles �vere �urrendered stating that the foregoing articles have been returned and are credited to him arld he shall exhibit said receipt to the City Treasurer o� the said City Vvhen receiving his final cheek. The Chief of Police shall submit to the City Clerk anc�_ to the City Treasurer of the said City a repor� sho�;✓ir.g.that all items of equipment owned by the city hav� been returned.
