RESOLUTION 2019-08-01
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE TOWN OF FRASER GRANT APPLICATION FOR A
LOCAL PARKS AND OUTDOOR RECREATION (LPOR) GRANT FROM THE STATE BOARD
OF THE GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO (GOCO) TO PROVIDE FUNDING IN ORDER TO
BEGIN THE IMPLEMENATION OF RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE FRASER RIVER
CORRDIOR MASTER PLAN THROUGH COZENS RANCH OPEN SPACE.
WHEREAS, in 2016, the Town of Fraser received GOCO funding to create a Master Plan for the
Fraser River Corridor through Cozens Ranch Open Space; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Master Plan is to create a community driven vision for Cozen
Ranch Open Space that identifies needs, goals and strategies to activate this under-utilized
120-acre open space asset; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Fraser is seeking funding to implement some of the recommendations
in the Master Plan: and
WHEREAS, the Town of Fraser will be requesting a dollar amount not to exceed $350,000.00
from Great Outdoors Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Fraser fully supports the Great Outdoors Colorado LPOR Grant, and if
the grant is awarded, the Town of Fraser supports the completion of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF FRASER, COLORADO THAT:
1. The Board of Trustees of the Town of Fraser strongly supports the grant
application and will appropriate matching funds for a grant with Great Outdoors
Colorado.
2. If the grant is awarded, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Fraser strongly
supports the completion of the project.
3. The Board of Trustees of the Town of Fraser authorizes the expenditure of funds
necessary to meet the terms and obligations of any Grant awarded.
4. The project site is owned by Town of Fraser and will be owned by Town of Fraser
for the next 25 years.
5. This resolution to be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
