RESOLUTION N0. 643
IN THE MATTE�? OF ACQUISITION AND IPAPROVEMENT-
DISTRICT N0. 26 OF THE CIR'Y OF LYIV�'VOOD, CALIF.
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
The City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECT20N 1. That it is hereby determined that the public
interest and necessity demand and r.equire, and it is the intention
of the City.Council of the City of Lynwood to order the work end'
improvements herein set,forth; all under and in accordance with
the Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925, as amended, to-wit:
SUBDIVISION 1. That certain �ortions of Elmwood Avenue be-
tween lines perpendicular to the center line of said Flmwood
Avenue distent on said center line 660 :feet westerl,y of and 550
feet easterly of the intersection of said.center line of Flmwood
Avenue with the northerly line of.the:Paci.fic Electric Railway
Company's Right of Way shall be improved as follows:
Graded to the ;�rades shown in the specificationa, plans, .
.profiles and cross-sections hereinafter mentioned;, paved in part
with an oil macadam pavenent and, in part, with an oil wearing `
surface pavement, and have conatructed thereon.cement concrete
curbs, cement concrete sidewalks and cement concrete gutters, the
reconetruction of manholes to line and grade, and the extension
of certain existing vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers.
� SUBDIVISION 2. That certaia.portions of the.northerly, road-
way of Fernwood Avenue between the southerly�prolongation of the
westerly Iine of Franklin'Street and a,line 425 f�eet'easterly
therefrom and parallel therewith shall.be improved as follows:
Graded to the grades shorm on sai�d specificstions, plans;
profiles and cross-sections,"paved.with an oil macadam pavement
and have constructed thereon cement�conorete.curbs, cement con-
crete sidewalks•and cement•.concrete gutters.
SUBDN ISION S. That certain portions of Elmwood Avenue be- �
tween the easterly line of Alameda Street �znd a�line 90 feet
easterly therefrom and parallel therewith shall be improved as
follows: ' .
Graded to the grades shown in said.specifications, plans,
profiTes and cross-sections arid`paved in part with an oil wearing
surface pavement and', in part, with an oil macadam pavement� and
have constructed thereln certain corrugated irom culverts.
SUBDIVISION 4. That certain portions of Alameda Street lying
.' between lines 60 feet northerlg of and parallel to the westerly
prolongation of the northerly line of Elmwood Avenue and 60 feet
southerly of and parallel to the westerly prolongation of the
southerly line of Elmwood Avenue shall be improved as follows:
Resurfaced with an asphaltic concrete pavement laid upon
- a sub-base. ,
SIIBDIVISION 5. That those certain essements across the Pacific
Electric Railvcay Company's Right-of-LVsy lying approzimately 169
feet westerly and 220 £eet easterly, measured along the center line
of said Right-of-�'Jay, from its intersection with the center line
oP Elmwood Avenue, be improved by the construction of certain
corrugated iron culverts.- . ___

Said easements are described as follows:
(1) Beginning at a point on the northerly line of the Pacific
Electric Railway.Company's Right of Way distant thereon 6.00 feet
westerly from its intersectiori with the produced southerly line
of Franklin Street; thence soo:therl.y in a direct line parallel
to,.said produced so,atrerly,line of ?�'rqnklin Street to the southerly
line of said Pacific Electric Railway Compan,y's Right of'Way;
thence westerl,y along said sou.therl,y Ri�ht of 'Na,y line 4.00 feet;
thence northerly in a direct line parallel to the produced southerly
line of F`ranklin Street to the northerly �ine o£ the aforementioned
Right o£ Way; thence easterly in a direct line to the point of
beginning. �' I
(2) Beginning at a point on the northerly line of the Pac3fic
Electric Railway Company's Right of Way dietant thereon 191 feet
easterly from its'intersection with the center line of Elmwood
Avenue (130 feet wide); thence easterly slong said northerly Right
of Way line 4.00 feet; thence southerly in s direct line measured
at right angles to said Right of Way line to,the southerly line
of said Pacific Electric Railwa,y Company's Right.of.Way; thenoe
westerly along said last mentioned Right of lVay line 4.00 feet; �
thence northerly in a direct line to the point of beginning.
The above descriptions are general only and reference is
hereby made to the specifications, plans, profiles and cross-sectiona
� hereinefter referred to, for a full and complete descriptlon of
the work to be done.
All the improvements herein described shall be constructed
. at the places, to the extent, and in the manner set forth in the.
specifications, plans, profiles end cross-sections, and attention
is called to the fact that the above descriptions are general only
and reference is hereby made to said speci£ioations, plens, pro-'
files, cross-sections and detailed drawings in the above entitled
matter heretofore approved b,y the Citg Council of the City of Lyn-
wood, and now on file in�the offi.ce of the City Clerk of sa,id.
Citg, for the es'timated cost °of'the'improvements.(inclusive of �
the incidental expenses and costs of'the proceedings) and for_ a
full and�detailed descr.iption and for the location of the proposed
improvements, and the grades to which said improvements are�to
be constructed. ' '
The notice of all persons affected is directed to the grades
for the proposed improvements'end to tho provisions of the Aequi-
sition and Improvement kct of 1925, as amanded, relating to grades.
Particular notice is directed to the'fact,that substantial
changes in the relation of the elevation of abutting property to
that of said public ways,.as they will exist after being improved,
� will result from the construction of.the above mentioned improvements
to the proposed grades.
SECTION 2. That the district of lands which will be benefited
by said improvements which shall be known hereafter as the "Assess-
ment District shall,'es proposed,'include•all those lands (exclu-
sive of_public roads,�streets and-alle,ys) in said• City of Lynvcood
within the following described exterior boundar,q line, to-wit:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 40, Block 5 of
Hiod3eska Park as shown on Maps recorded in Book 9, pa�es 142 and �
143 of Niaps, Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence
westerly in a direct line to the southwestorly corner of Lot 45,
Block 5 of said Modjeska t'ark; thence southerly in a direct line
to the southeasterly corner oF liot 2 of the Subdivision oE tho'

certify to the adoption of this'Resolution and cause the same to
be publ:ished hy two inser£ions in the "Lynwood Tribune" a weekly
ne.wspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Lynwood,
and said newspaper is selected as that deemed most likely to gtve ,
notice to all ownars of land in the �'ssessment District and all
persons interested in the proceedin�s and is hereby desi�nated as
the newspaper for making all othei� and further publications in or
