answering open speci�ications not involving patented
processes permit of the use oP a varity oY constrnc-
tion, inoluding concrete, asphalt, macadam and other
sur£aces o3 equal va�lue, and o3 record, ea producing
e qurslly eatisfaotory reaults, which, be�ause o� the
absence of such limitati�ns upon their u�e, as ap-
plied in the case oY patented g�:vement, may be acquired
afr very mnch less cost, and represent very much greater
value Yor the costs involved than do the patented pro-
cess pavements. -
