HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-Board and Commissions (no Hist.Pres) 1 ORDINANCE NO. 03 - 2008 Series of 2008 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF ERIE, COLORADO, AMENDING TITLE 3, “BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS,” CHAPTER 1, “PLANNING COMMISSION,” CHAPTER 2, “AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD,” CHAPTER 4, “OPEN SPACE AND TRAILS ADVISORY BOARD,” AND TITLE 7, “PUBLIC WAYS AND PROPERTY,” CHAPTER 3, “TREES AND SHRUBS,” SECTION 3, “TREE BOARD,” OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF ERIE; AND, SETTING FORTH DETAILS IN RELALTION THERETO. WHEREAS, The Board of Trustees of the Town of Erie desires to amend the provisions of Title 3, “Boards and Commissions,” Chapter 1, “Planning Commission,” Chapter 2, Airport Advisory Board,” Chapter 4, “Open Space and Trails Advisory Board,” and Title 7, “Public Ways and Property,” Chapter 3, “Trees and Shrubs,” Section 3, “Tree Board,” of the Town of Erie Municipal Code in order to add uniformity to the operation of the Town’s boards and commissions and to better define the responsibilities of the Town’s boards and commissions; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Erie believes it is in the best interest of the Town to amend the Town of Erie Municipal Code in order to add uniformity to the operation of the Town’s boards and commissions and to better define the responsibilities of the Town’s boards and commissions, and that such an amendment is necessary to the preservation of the public property, health, safety, and welfare of the Town and for the financial well being of the Town. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF ERIE, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Title 3, “Boards and Commissions,” Chapter 1, “Planning Commission,” is hereby repealed in its entirety and replaced with the following new Chapter 1, to read as follows: CHAPTER 1 PLANNING COMMISSION 3-1-1: COMMISSION CREATED; MEMBERSHIP; QUALIFICATIONS; TERMS AND REMOVALS: A. Commission Created; Members; Qualifications; Compensation: There is hereby created a planning commission for the town. The planning commission shall consist of seven (7) members, each of whom shall be appointed by the town board of trustees.
