GOMPANY A TF.NfPORARY Pr,RMIT FOR TI� CONSTRUCTION
OF A PIPE ZITdE SN ATLANTIC AVr�N[T�,.
., ,.. _�Yi�REAS: Southern Fuel Company, a corporation, has
heretofore made application to the Cit;� Cou.ncil of the � �
City of Zyn�rood, Cali£ornia, for a franchise and privilege
, to lay, construct, operate, maintain, use, repair, replace
and � or remove a conduit, main or pipe line, not egceeding
thirty (30) inches in internal diameter, for the purposo
- of transporting gas in, under, slong and acrosa &tlantic
Avenue, from the south city limits of said city to the
� north city limits thereof, '
APdD.�7HGREAS: this cou.ncil is disposed to grant such a '
franchise up�n proceedings being had in reference thereto,
AND WHERE9S: it appears necessary that said applicant
� should have permission to proceed with the work contemplated
under such franchise pending the consummation of such pro-
ceedings as is essential, �
PdOUJ Tffc�R�FORE: the City Council of the City of
�ynwood, Califoriiia, does resolve, declare and determine as ..
follows:

. proceedinge for the granting of such franchise,.permit or
privilege aceording to law, said applicant, Southern Fuel
Company, shall be and the same is hereby granted an emergency;.
temporary, revocable perrr.it or privilege to lay, construct,
' operate, maintain., use, repair, replace and� or remove a conduit, .
main.or pipe line, not egceeding thirty (30) inches in internal
diameter, £or the pnrpose of transporting gas in, under, along
and across.Atlantic AvenuQ from the south city limits of said
: city to the north city limits thereof, together with the right �
to carry,. transport, conve,y and conduct gas in and through
said conduit,�main or pipe line, in, through and along said
street;
,- Section 2, .That out of the number of pereons employed by`
the Grantee at '�5.00 or less per day while engaged in the con-
struction of the work in the City of Lynwood,,the Grantee o�
said franchise shall employ, if available and capable o£ doing �
�, �.,_,_, the work in the opinion of some person appointed by the Council,
at� least two-thirds o3 �that number cvho are residents` of the -
, City of Lyn�vood and are unemployed at the time the construction
� work starts, to work on the construction of said pipe line
through theCity o£'Lynwood during all of the time it is under
actual constraction im said City and at the standard scale.of
pay given to others for like work by the City of Lynvrood; and �
if the Grantee.shall fail to ful£ill this obli'gation, the City
Council shall have the right to for£eit said pern:it.

Section 3. That the resolution shall take effect and
be in forde immed:iately upon the payment by said Southern
Fuel.Company to the City o£ �ynwood of the sum of One (�1,00)
_ Dollar per lineal rod of the length of said pipe line to be
constructed in�Atlantic �venue in the City of Lyn�ood.
