Board Meeting Minutes
March 14, 2011

Call to order: 7:09
Treasurers Report - (see attached) Sallie stated the discrepancies in the the previous treasurers records were addressed with Linda Wade. She has rectified all mistakes made and apologized
for the errors and misunderstandings.
The Miss Sylvia fund in the bank and was brought up. The funds can be returned to the givers as they are recorded with the Pay Pal account. The lift that was installed is not approved
for operation by the state and since the death of Miss Sylvia it is not needed at the home. Carol asked if TAA could used the money to make our building more handicap accessable if donors
were contacted and asked for their input. Samantha moved the discussion be tabled until more details known.
Sallie will contact the accountant to see exactly what is needed to file the 2010 taxes. No extension is needed as the deadline is not until May 15.
Theatre Report- A meeting was held at Carols to discuss details for Driftwood Saloon fundraiser. Carol asked if we should go forward with the plan or cancel if the funds raised was too
small to offset the cost. It was agreed upon by all to go forward with the fundraiser.
Publicity Report - none
Hospitality Report- none
Membership Report - Samantha will send another newsletter out soon. The last newsletter was informative and received positive responses from our members.
Ting Blessington and Anne West were approved for Lifetime Membership.
Samantha also reminded us of her showing at North Beach Grill on March 27 and asked if she could include this in the newsletter. All wholeheartedly approved. The owners of NBG are considering
making artist showings a monthly event.
New Business - Renee met with Deb and Ian Scott regarding the website. She was instructed on how to make several much needed changes. There are some changes that can be made only by
Deb or Ian. Kim asked if they would charged everytime a question arose that only they could answer. Renee will follow-up. Samantha stated that if we were charged for general questions,
she would like to go on record with a nay vote. Renee and Kim agreed and the discussion was tabled until after Renee spoke with Deb again.
The Festival of the Arts still needs a coordinator. Samantha stated all messages on answering machine are from artists wanting details and they have been told that no coordinator had
been named yet. Richard asked if we should focus on local artists only and Samantha and Kim agreed. A committee is needed to come up with a plan for scaling back the festival and to
decide if the festival could be done without a paid coordinator. Renee suggested a lunch tentavely set for the 23rd to discuss.
The art auction has been officially cancelled. The donated artwork will be taken to Art Center by Kim and Renee’ and artist will be told they may pick them up during scheduled art classes.
Samantha will draft plans for signage for building and ask City to proof before moving forward.
Renee stated plans for “OZ” moving forward. Scripts and music ordered. Banner requests with city have been done and gym dates ok’d. Meeting with YMCA to be rescheduled to present the
concept and discuss ways the production can include Y camp kids and benefit the Priceless Gifts Campaign. She is also getting calls about Theatre Camp.
The Post Theatre group is interested in TAA doing a show in the Post. Tybee’s Got Talent was suggested as “doable” there. In the Fall, The Bad Seed could be performed there as well in
the Fall. Renee motioned we meet with Post group about Tybee’s Got Talent being held at Post on Labor Day Weekend. Motion passed.
Renee’ proposed board meeting time be changed to 5:00pm to better accomodate several board members schedules. All ok’d.
