CALL TO ORDER

The Special Council Meeting of August 26, 2003, was called to order at 5:45 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ROLL CALL
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Angle, Berry, Gordon, Groner, Klindt, Olsen, Viessman, Vogel, and
Weber
Absent: Ferguson
A quorum was declared present.
Mayor John Landwehr suggested that the Council adjourn the Special Council Meeting and
go into Finance Committee meeting at this time. However, Council expressed their wish to
remain in Council session, so did not recess at this time.
BILLS PENDING
Bill 2003 -72, sponsored by Councilman Berry, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, PROVIDING FOR THE
LEVY OF CITY TAXES AND ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CITY
OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI FOR THE YEAR 2003.
Bill 2003 -72 was read third time by title by City Administrator Rich Mays and placed on final
passage. A motion was made by Councilman Edith Vogel, seconded by Councilman Dan
Klindt, to amend Bill 2003 -72 as follows:
SECOND: For the purpose of establishing and maintaining Public Parks in the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of $.1754 on the one hundred dollar valuation.
Following discussion on the amendment, Councilman Edith Vogel called for the question,
and the call for the question was approved with Councilmen Angle and Berry voting "Nay."
The original motion to amend Bill 2003 -72 was then defeated by the following roll -call vote:
Aye: Berry, Klindt, Vogel, and Weber
Nay: Angle, Gordon, Groner, Olsen, and Viessman

A motion was made by Councilman Richard Groner to vote on the original bill at this time,
seconded by Councilman Clyde Angle, and approved unanimously. Bill 2003 -72 was then
passed as Ordinance 13597:
Aye: Angle, Berry, Gordon, Groner, Klindt, Olsen, Viessman, Vogel, and Weber
Nay: None
ADJOURN
MENT
A motion was made by Councilman Cliff Olsen to adjourn the Special Council Meeting at
this time for the purpose of convening the Finance Committee meeting, seconded by
Councilman Richard Groner, and approved unanimously at 6:10 P.M.
