A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $333,513.06 TO THE
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AWARDED TO SULLY MILLER CONTRACTING
COMPANY, INC. FOR THE ABBOTT ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT
NO. 4011.67.996, FEDERAL PROJECT NO. 07-LA-0-LYN STPL 5250(010),
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY
FUNDS APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER
WHEREAS, the Abbott Road Improvement Project, Federal Project No.
4011.67.996 is scheduled to be completed during fiscal year (FY) 2010-2011; and
WHEREAS, on July 6, 2010, the City Council awarded the construction contract
for said project to Sully Miller Contracting Company Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the project started on October 6, 2010 and was completed on
December 20, 2010; and
WHEREAS, during the course of construction, extra work became necessary
due to unforeseen field conditions which resulted in a contract change order in the
amount of $333,513.06; and
WHEREAS, the change order amount requires the City Council's approval
pursuant to Section 6-3.15 of the Lynwood Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the project budget is currently inadequate to pay for the projected
final total project cost of $1,826,453.06; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified available un-appropriated STPL and Prop C
funds that can be used for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approves Contract
Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $333,513.06 to the construction contract awarded
to Sully Miller Contracting Company Inc. for the Abbott Road Improvement Project,
Project No. 4011.67.997, Federal Project No. 07-LA-0-LYN STPL 5250(010).
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said contract
change order.
Section 3. That the City Manager or designee is authorized to make the
following funds appropriation and transfer:

Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
