HomeMy Public PortalAbout20031006 premeetingCOUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 6, 2003 CALL TO ORDER 1 The Council "Pre- Meeting" Work Session of October 6, 2003, was convened at 5:45 p.m. by Mayor John Landwehr. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: *Angle, * *Berry, Ferguson, Gordon, Groner, Klindt, Olsen, Viessman, Vogel, and Weber Absent: None DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS The following categories had items brought up for discussion: APPOINTMENTS Mayor John Landwehr stated he wants to appoint an ad hoc committee of the whole to address the clean air ordinance issue, and that if he cannot attend any of the sessions himself, he would request that Councilman Angle, and the sponsor of the ordinance, preside at the meeting for him. He announced he thinks that speakers lined up to speak on the issue tonight may do so if they wish, but that public forums specifically for that purpose will be scheduled in case they want to save their comments for those sessions, or save their comments for when the ordinance is actually introduced. *Councilman Clyde Angle arrived at this point in the meeting (5:50 P.M.) Mayor John Landwehr asked Councilman Clyde Angle when he wants to schedule special sessions regarding the clean air ordinance issue. Following a brief discussion on suitable dates for these, the Council agreed that they would schedule the meetings in the Regular Council Meeting as follows: Public forums at 12:00 noon and 5:30 PM on Monday, October 13; Council workshop on Wednesday, October 15, immediately following the 5:30 CVB workshop. Councilman Clyde Angle agreed with Mayor Landwehr's previous suggestion that if the Mayor cannot attend any of these sessions, that Councilman Angle, as the sponsor of the ordinance, would preside at the session(s) in his absence. BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS * *Councilman Michael Berry arrived at this point in the meeting (5:56 P.M.) COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 6, 2003 2 Bill 2003 -108: An amendment has been drafted to leave out the Housing Authority, at their request, so that they can address the issue in their own regulations. NEW AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS Councilman Darren Gordon stated he will not be bringing up the issue of Adrian's Island as announced in the October 3 "Brown Bag" work session The Work Session ended at 6:00 P.M.
