Call to Order — The March 22, 2011 Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting was dismissed at 5:15 p.m. by Chairperson Charles Wood due to lack of a quorum. II. Invocation — None III. Agenda Posting — The Agenda was duly posted for the March 2011 meeting as prescribed by the Brown Act. VI. Approval of Past Minutes — The Recreation & Parks Commission Meeting Minutes for February 22, 2011 were not approved due to lack of a quorum. VII. Pubfic Orals — None VIII. Current Programs/Activity Report (oral report by Recreation staffl Ms. Rozie Carrillo, Recreation Superintendent is filling in for Mr. Mark Flores, Deputy Director. Ms. Carrillo highlighted the following events in March: . 3/26/11 — Youth Baseball/Softball Opening Day, 11 a.m., Lynwood City Park, Field #1. . Ms. Carrillo stated that on March 13, 2011 at 10 a.m. that Lynwood Meadows Park was rededicated in honor of the late, former City of Lynwood employee, Mr. Adolfo Medina. March 13, is Mr. Medina's birthday and the event was well attended by his family, friends and co-workers both past and present. Family and friends spoke of fond memories of Mr. Medina and of his intense dedication to the City of Lynwood and his love for the City's parks. The event Current Programs/Activity Report — Continued: Included the unveiling of a bronze plaque with the new park name "Adolfo Medina Memorial Park", a dove release, and light refreshments.
