BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF T�USTEi�:S of the City o£
Zynu�ood, as follows: �
Section 1, That the public interest and necessity
require and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees
of the City of Lynwood to order the following acquisitions
for Peach Street and Norton 9venue, to-wit:
First: That Peach Street be opened, widened and
egtended in said City of Zynwood from the northerly line of
Lot 37,.Block 22, of Pdodjeska Park, as per map of same
recorded in Book,9, Pages 142 and 143, o£ P.4aps, Hecords of
Zos Angeles County, California, to the northerly line of
Beechwood Avanue, and from the souther;ly line o£ Plower
Street to the northorly line of Lynwood Road,
That the land necessary and convenient to be taken for
the improvement above deacribed (heading first thereof) is
situated in the City of I,yn�vood, County of Zos t�ngeles,
State o£ California, and ie more particularly described as
follovts, to-vrit:
-- ---Zot 37, Block�22, aforesaid Modjoska Park; Lot�=37.and-=38, -
Block 21, aforesaid. Modjeska Park; Lots 37 and 38, Block 20,
aforesaid hiodjeska Yark; Zots 42 and 43, Block 19, aforesaid
Modjeska Park; Zot 43, B1ock 18, aforesaid Modjeska Park; and
that part of Lots 41 and 42, of Block 18, aforesaid Modjeska
Park, described as follo�us: Beginning at the northwest corner
of said Zot 42, Block 18; thence south 84 degrees 00 minutes
east along the northerly line of said Lot 42� Block 18, a
distance of 25.00 feet to the northeast corner of said Lot 42,
Block 18; that point being the point of the beginning of a
curve concave westerly and having a radius of 608.89 feet, a
radial line from said point bearing north 84 degrees 00 minutes
west; thence southerly along said curve a distance of 129,30
feet to the end of same; thence south 18 degrees 10 minutes

Block 18; thence north 84 degrees 00 minutes west 25.58 feet

a point which is south 84 degrees 00 minutes east 10.38 feet

beginning o£ a curve concave westerly and having a radius of
583.89 Peet, a radial line•from said point bearing north 71

Second: That Norton Avenue be opened, widened and ex-
tended in said �ity of Zyn�ood from the westerly line of Long
Beach Boulevard�_to the �asterly line of Tract Pdo. 5259, as per
map recorded in Book 57, Page 45 0£ N1aps, Records of Los Angeles
County, California. '
That the land necessary and convenient to be taken for the
improvement (heading seoond thereof) is situated in the City of
Zyn�ood, County of Zos Angeles, State of California, and is more
particularly described as follows, to-wit:
A strip of land o� a uniform width of 23,50 feat, being a
portion of Tract No, 1 0£ the Partition of Yortion o£ Home
� Tract of Antonio Maria Zugo and Ms.ria German Lygo, in Rancho San
Antonio, as per District Court case No. 3590, Records of Zos
6ngeles County, California, described as follows:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 48, o£ said
Tract No, 5259; thonce south 84 degrees 00 minutes east 518.76
feet along the easterly prolongation of the southerly line o£
said Lot 48 to the westerl� line of Zong Beach �ouleva�d;
thence eouth 14 degrees 24 minutes east 25.07 feet along said
westerly�line of Long Beaeh Boulevard to a point; thence north

Section 2, That the public interest and convenience
require and that it is the intention oY said Board of Trustees
of the City of Lynwood to order the following improvements
made and work done, to-wit:
Pirst• That Pesch Street, between a line 3,50 feet
souther� of the westerly prolongation of the no�the�ly;.line
of Lynwood Road; and the prolon�ation westerly of the southerly
line of Flower �treet, be improved with certain grading, the
construction of 6 inch cement concrete pavement, the construction
of cement concrete curb, the construction of cement concrete
sidewalk, except where sidewalk and curb exist to official grade
along said Peach Street,
That Peach Street, between the northerly line of Beechwood
9venue to a line 24.80 3eet southerly of the southerly line of
Elmmood Avenue, be improved with 5 inch cement concrete pavement
and the construction of cement concrete curb, That Peach Street
from a line 24,80 �eet southerly of the southerly line of �lmwood

�ith oiled surfaco. That Peach Street, between the northerly
line of Elmwood 9venue to a line 36.51 feet northerly of the

Avenue be improved v�ith certain grading, the construction of
5 inch cement concrete pavement, the construction of cement
concrete curb, except where pavement and curb exist to �fficial
grade along said Peach Street,
S�cond: That Norton Avenue, between the southerly prolon-
gation of the easterly line of Tract IJo, 5259 as reacorded in
Book 57, Page 45 of Maps, Records of.Los A ngeles County,
California, to a line 5.5 £eet easterly and parallel to the
westerly line of Zong Beach Boulevard, be improved with certain
grading, the construction of cement concrete sidewalk, the
construction of cement concrete eurb, the construction of cement
concrete gutter and the construction of 4 inch rock macadam
pavement, egcept wnere sidewalk, curb and gutter egist to
official grade along esid Norton Avenue,
Third: That Peach Street, bet�veen a line 5,00 feet
southerly from and parallel to the northerly line o£ Fernwood
Avenue and the southerly line of Beechwood Avenue, be im-
proved with 6 inch concrete pavement,
Reference is h,ereby made to the Specifications, plans,
profiles and detail drawings for the above described evork and
improvement, approved by said Board o£ Trustees o£ the City
of Lynwood, and on file in the of£ice o£ the Clerk of said
Board of Trustees £or a fl�.11 and detailed deseription and
locatiori of'said proposed and improvement, and of grades
to vrhich the sa�e is to be constructed, The notice o£ all
persons affected is directed to the grades for the proposed im-
provoment and to the provieions of the Acquisition and Im-
provement 9et of 1925 relating to grades.
Section 3. That the district of lands which will be
benefited by said proposed acquisition, work and improvements, to
be known as the "Assessment District", shall,,as proposed,
include all that territory in the said City of Lynwood, within
the following described exterior boundary line, to-wit:
Beginning at the most westerly point of block 6, Modjeska
Park as recorded in Book 9, Yages 142 and 143 as per Maps,
Records of Los Angeles Count,��, Cali£ornia; thence easterly
elong the northerly line o£ Fernwood °venue to the easterly
line of n4odjeska Avenue; thence southerly along the easterly
line of Modjeaka Avenue to the southwesterly corner o£ Lot 12,
Block 13, of aforesaid Modjeska Park; thence southerly in a
direct line to the southwesterly corner o£ Lot 12, Block 12 of
aforesaid Iviodjeska Park; thence easterly in a direet line to the
northwesterly corner of_Zot 51, Block 12 of said i�odjeska Park;
thence southerly along the westerly line of said Zot 51, to the
southwesterly corner of said Zot 51; thence southmesterly in a
direct line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 32 of Modjeska
Acres, as recorded in Book l0, Page 33 of Niaps, Records of Los
Angeles County, Califoxnia; thence southerly along the westerly
line of said Lot 32 to the southwesterly corner of said Zot 32;

Heference is herebg made to the map of said assessment
district approved by said Board of Trustees of the City of I,yn�ood
and on file in the office of the Clerk of said Board, which
indicates by a boundary line the extent of the territory to be
included in said proposed assessment district, and which said map
shall govern for all details as to the extent thereof.
Seation 3a. The follo�ving parcel of land is owned by the
City of Lgnwood and is used in the performance of a public
function, to-�vit:

That parcel o£ land known as Zot B of Modjeska Park
as recorded in Book 9, Pages 142 and 143 of Maps; Records of
Los Angeles County, California, and said parcel o£ land
above described being o�ned and used in the performance of
said public £unations shall be omitted from the sai� '
assessment district and from the levy and collection of the
'special asseesment taxes hereafter to be levied and collected
to cover the expenses of the things herein proposed to be done.
' Section 4. That in tho judgment of this Board,,varying
• benefits to be derived by dif£erent parcels of land lying
within said district require, and that, therefore, said
assessmerit district shall be divided into (8) separate zones,
- .designated Zones.

Section 5. That to defray the expenses of the things
proposed to be done, as above set forth, bonds �vill be issu.ed
to the total amount of the,same, said bonds to bear interest
� at the rate of 7� (per cent) per anrium, payable.semi-annually, .
'' the aggregate principal of all bonds issued to be paid and'
' discharged �ithin 15 years after the date of issuance,
approximately one-t�vel£th part of said`aggregate principal
to be payable annually, and that a special fu.nd for the payment �
- of said bonds �ill be constituted by the levy of epecial
assessment taxes upon the lands v�ithin the.assessment district,.
, according to the assessed value of said lands �exclusive of �
the i�provements thereon) and in accordance with the aones

. of the City of I,ynwood. "The first paytnent on the aggregate

Section 6, Notice is hereby given that the 18th day of

objections to the proposed acquisitions, work or improvement,
To th.e proposed grad.es to which the improvements are to be
constructed, to the extent of the assessment district, to the
zonos into which said district is to be divided, or to the
percentages to be raised from each of said zones, or to any or
all of the foregoing, may�eppear before said Board of Trustees
of the City of Lynwood and be heard, Attention is hereby
direoted to the provisions of the "Acquisition and Improvement
9ct of 1925" relative to objections and protests.
Section 7, That the proceedings for said acquisitions, work
' and improvement shall be had and taken under and in accordanee
with an Act of the Legislature oP the State of California known
and designated as the "Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925",
approved D�.� 23, 1925, and said bonds shall also be issued in
accordance with the provisions o£ said 9et.
9ection 8. That Ira E. Cogswell, a public officer, to-wit,
the Street Superintendant o3 the City of Zynwood, is hereby
eppointed "Superintendent of L9ork", without compensation, and.
is hereby ordered to sause to be conspiciously posted, in the
form and the ma.nner provided in said Act, notice of the adoption
of this resolution, which said notice consiste of printed copies
of this resolution, entitled "Notice oP Rzblic Improvement,'T
The Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that the
Clerk of the City of Lynwood be required to mail copies of the
notice oY improvemont to the ownera or reputed owners, and the
said Citq Clerk shall not be required to mail any copies of
said notice whatsoever,.
Section 9. That the Clerk of this Board of Trustees of the
City of Lynwood shall certify to the adoption of this resolution
and shall cause the same to be published by two insertions 3n
the Lynwood Tribune, a legal nev�spaper published and circulated
in the City of .Lynwood, which is hereby designated for that
purpose and for making all other publications in or incident to
these proceedings.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted
by the Board oY Trustees, at a regular meeting held on the 14th
day of December, 1926, by the £ollowing vote of the membersthereof:
