CALL TO ORDER
The Council "Pre- Meeting" Work Session of January 5, 2004, was convened at 5:45 p.m.
by Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: *Angle, * *Berry, Ferguson, Gordon, Groner, Klindt, *Olsen, Viessman,
Vogel, and Weber
Absent: None
* Angle & Olsen arrived at 5:50 PM
** Berry arrived at 5:53 PM
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
The following categories had items brought up for discussion:
CONSENT AGENDA
Item (e), JCTV contract renewal: Councilman Michael Berry requested that this item be
removed from the Consent Agenda for individual discussion and consideration.
Item (a), minutes of 12 -10 Council Work session: Councilman Bob Weber stated that the
minutes were incorrect because he was present at this meeting and Councilman Klindt was
absent. City Clerk Phyllis Powell stated that the minutes have been corrected to reflect that
fact following the January 2 Brown Bag meeting.
BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS
Clean Air issue: Mayor John Landwehr stated that he will be having discussions with
Councilman Angle and Councilman Olsen in the next few days regarding a compromise
ordinance that would include a referendum to place this issue on the April ballot.
A discussion was held regarding whether the Finance Committee meeting scheduled for
January 12 should be a Special Council meeting instead so that actions could be taken on
introducing a new clean air bill. Councilman Angle stated it did not matter to him whether
the meeting was a Finance or Special Council meeting. The Council will discuss the issue
on the Regular Meeting.
The Work Session ended at 6:00 P.M.
