A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING STREETS WHERE ATVS AND OFF -ROAD UTILITY
VEHICLES MAY BE OPERATED
Whereas, The City of Tiffin has updated Chapter 75 of its Code of Ordinances - All -
Terrain Vehicles, Off -Road Utility Vehicles, and Snowmobiles; and,
Whereas, Section 75.05(1) states that "an ATV or an Off -road utility vehicle may be
operated on streets only in accordance with Sections 321.234A and 3211.10 of the Code
of Iowa, and only on such streets as may be designated by resolution of the Council for
driving an ATV or Off -road utility vehicle."
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa that ATVs
and Off -road utility vehicles may be operated on any city street except Marengo
Road/Highway 6 as specified below:
ATVs and Off -road utility vehicles shall not be operated upon a City Street which is a
primary road extension through the City but shall be allowed to cross a City Street which
is a primary road extension through the City. Marengo Road/Highway 6 is a primary
road extension through the City.
On the 16th day of August, 2022, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Schnedler introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2022-073, A
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING STREETS WHERE ATVS AND OFF -ROAD UTILITY
VEHICLES MAY BE OPERATED and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded
by Councilperson Olney.
Ayes: Limkemann, Havens, Olney, Orris, Schnedler.
Nays: None.
Absent: None.
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2022-073, A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING
STREETS WHERE ATVS AND OFF -ROAD UTILITY VEHICLES MAY BE OPERATED
to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 16th day of August, 2022.
