Home My Public Portal About20040227 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 27, 2004 CALL TO ORDER The Council "Brown Bag" Work Session of February 27, 2004, was convened at 12:00 P.M. by Mayor John Landwehr. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Angle, Berry, Gordon, Groner, Klindt, Olsen, Viessman, Vogel, and Absent: Ferguson and Weber A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda. Councilman Richard Groner asked questions about restaurant inspection fees because he had been contacted by a restaurant owner about it. He asked that staff provide details of what the city does and the breakdown of the costs they charge for doing it. Mayor John Landwehr stated that he was going to ask for a presentation from the staff be given at the Council Meeting on this issue. 2003 -178: Questions were asked of staff about details of the bill which were answered by City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus. 2003 -179: Mayor John Landwehr suggested providing a forum so people affected by this bill can meet with staff about it. Community Development Director Pat Sullivan said he provided a copy of the bill to Heath Clarkston of the Builders Association who will be meeting on March 5. Mayor John Landwehr suggested Mr. Sullivan might want to attend that meeting to answer questions about the bill. Councilman Michael Berry suggested adding this issue to a Public Works & Planning Committee agenda for discussion if it cannot be worked out at the March 5 Builders Association meeting. 2003 -166: Councilman Richard Groner stated he plans to withdraw this bill that is currently on the Informal Calendar. New Business: COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 27, 2004 Item (d) Racial Profiling: City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated that this report is generated annually and is due in March each year, and stated that the information is then made available to the public on the web site at any time. Councilman Clyde Angle states he wants to add a Personnel issue to the Closed Session agenda. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated that the Council Agenda will be amended to reflect that addition. No official actions were taken since this was a work session only. The meeting adjourned at 12:45 P.M.
