CALL TO ORDER
The Council "Brown Bag" Work Session of March 12, 2004, was convened at 12:00 P.M.
by Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Angle, Ferguson, Gordon (arrived at 12:10 PM), Groner, Klindt, Olsen
(arrived at 12:15 PM), Viessman, Vogel, and Weber (arrived at 12:06
PM)
Absent: Berry
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda.
Bill 2003 -184: Councilman Richard Groner stated he wants to see limits on there about the
number of times people can come before the Council on the same topic, and referenced the
persons who spoke against the smoking bill.
Bills 2003 -186 & 2003 -187: Mayor John Landwehr suggested that Councilman Clyde Angle
and Councilman Edith Vogel get together to reach a consensus to avoid having more than
one bill on the same topic. Councilman Edith Vogel stated would not be opposed to working
together with Councilman Angle if they could work something out.
Bill 2003 -178: Councilman Edith Vogel stated she is going to place this on the Informal
Calendar. Mayor John Landwehr directed City Clerk Phyllis Powell to place this on the
agenda for the April 19 Council Meeting under Unfinished Business.
Bill 2003 -179: Councilman Richard Groner will place this on the Informal Calendar.
Councilman Groner asked if the trucker in question had a city business license. Mayor John
Landwehr asked City Administrator Rich Mays to find out and report to the Council on his
findings.
Bill 2003 -169: Councilman Clyde Angle stated he will pull this bill off the Informal Calendar
to be voted on at the Council Meeting.
COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 12, 2004
Councilman Richard Groner mentioned that he and Councilman Cliff Olsen and possibly
some other Council Members will not be able to attend the March 18 Public Works &
Planning Committee Meeting and wondered if it should be rescheduled if a quorum would
not be present. Mayor John Landwehr asked how many of the Council Members were going
to be able to attend that meeting, and seven of those present indicated they would be there.
No official actions were taken since this was a work session only.
The meeting adjourned at 12:40 P.M.
