MINUTES - TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA
The meeting of the Town Council was held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock
March 8, 1950, at the Gulf Stream Golf Club.
Present were Mr. L. Seton Lindsay, Mayor, Mr. Wm. T. Jebb, Jr., Vice - Mayor,
and Mr. Wm. J. Bauer, Town Clerk and Tax Collector.
The minutes of the meeting held February 15, 1950 were read and approved.
A motion was proposed, seconded and carried that there be printed on
a sheet of paper headed "NOTICE ", the following: "Your attention is
drawn to the fact that the Town Commission on December 7, 1949, passed
the following resolution: RESOLVED, That all garbage be wrapped in
paper and place in Metal Containers or Ordinary Garbage Cans, the size
not to exceed 25 gallons. We would appreciate your kind observance
of the above regulation. Signed: TOWN COMET[- ISSION, Town of Gulf Stream,
Florida."
Commissioner Lindsay reported that he had had a talk with .City Manager
Black of Delray Beach, who told Mr. Lindsay that the Town of Gulf Stream
might dump their garbage, if properly wrapped in paper, on the Delray
Beach arbage dump at so much a load. The amount tentatively discussed
was 507 a load but if Mr. Black, after looking at the truck, sees that
it is carrying over a ton of garbage, we may have to pay a little
more a load. Commissioner Lindsay further reported that he has not
asked for a contract from the City of Delray Beach as he feels it better
at present that the arrangement go along under the verbal understanding
with Mr. Black.
Police Officer Cooper reported that the radio has been installed in
( the police car but at present, due to delay in issuance of license
from the Federal Government, it can only be used to receive messages.
Upon motion made by Mayor Lindsay, seconded by Mr. Bauer, it was
resolved that the salary of Harry Purdom be changed from 015.00 per
month to ;50.00 per quarter, payable at the first quarter of this
year, namely, March 31, 1950.
