The meeting of the Town Commissioners of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida was held on yednesday May 10,th 1950 at 2 9.30 a.m. Bresent: Mayor Commissioner L. Seton Lindsay and Town Clerk Commissioner Wm.J. Bauer. The minutes of the previous meeting held on April 12th,1950 ware read and approved. police Officer E. W. 'ooper rendered a report in general. Commissioner Wm.J.Bauer reported that water samples taken last month had been approved by the State Board of Health. Following discussion, upon motion made by Mayor Commissioner L. Seton Lindsay, seconded by Commissioner Wm.J.Bauer, it was RESOLVED, that property owners desiring to discontinue purchasing water during the summer months, must notify the Town Office so that they may shut off said water and must again notify the Town Office when they desire it turned on. The charge to be $1.00 for turning off water and $1.00 to turn it on again. A discussion was held relative to reducing water rates for those purchasing in excess of 50,000 gallons per month. A request had been made to the Town Commission that water sold in excess of *50,000 gallons be sold at a reduced rate. The Town Commission thought it might be good both for the Gulf Stream Golf Club and for the Town of Gulf Stream to make a re- duction in the rate, whenever the amount of water used exceeds 50,000 gallons per monthq It was felt any reduction in price should be born jointly by the Gulf Stream Golf Club and the Town of Gulf Stream, on the theory that both the Gulf Stream Golf Club and the Town of Gulf Stream would lose money if big users were to put in their own pumps and wells thus curtailing their monthly bills. In the discussion it was suggested that a cut of 25% in the the overall rate for water wherein over 50,000 gallons was used, might be about right. This would mean the Town of Gulf Stream would receive a profit of 6 cents and the Gulf Stream Golf Club would receive 8 cents instead of 12 cents per ohe thousand gallons. It was definitely felt that if it is a sound business proposition to reduce the rate for water used over 50,000 gallons per month, then both the Club and the Town would profit and naturally both the Club and the Town should bear an equal percentage of the reduced price. This might rewire an amendment in the agreement between the Club and the Town. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Mayor 75-w-7-C Ter All bills approved as per attached statement.
