CALL TO ORDER
The Council "Brown Bag" Work Session of July 30, 2004, was convened at 12:05 P.M. by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Berry, Brown, Crane, Harvey, and Martin
Absent: Ferguson, Viessman, Vogel, and Weber
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda.
Bill 2004 -54 - City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated that he wished to have Bill 2004 -54
added to the agenda and distributed copies of same. Mayor John Landwehr asked Missy
Bonnot of the Chamber of Commerce to attend Monday night's meeting to make a
presentation regarding ALPLA. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus explained the procedure
and the city's involvement for this project.
Scheduled Reports - Mayor John Landwehr asked when staff would be making a
presentation on the City's web site. City Administrator Rich Mays stated that it would be at
the September 7 Council meeting.
Election of New Ward 2 City Council Member - A discussion was held regarding the
procedure for filling the Ward 2 Council seat left vacant by the death of Councilman Bill
Patterson. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus clarified that City Code requires that each
nomination be seconded. Dates were discussed for setting up the public forums for citizens
to meet the nominees.
No official actions were taken since this was a work session only.
