On the aftcrnoon of the twentieth day of rebruary,
in the �car,.one thousand nine hundred and tvrent�� three,our
' little City of Lgn�roqd v{as,,,ahoeked from,its center to ita
± uttermost li,mits as the sad nev�s of. the desath of the Honor-
uble J.H.Pyfurray,who had £rom the v�ry in�stAnt of incorporation
to the moment of his demise,becn the courteous ,affable Clerk
of the City,was carried from person to person.
He graccd this posit.iom'and filled it to the bcst
of his ability,with honor to himsel£ and v�ith credit to his
conet3tuency.
�. Mr.b7urray was a man of absolute sincerity,tivit.h no
� o�tentetion �hatsoaver.He was � man vJhose honestg And integr.ity
were absolul,ely above reproach.Fie vaas frequently cA11ed,

Ho was evcr keenly interested in keeping to the
front respect for law and constituted authority�insisting
that the fAilure oxi the part of some of our people to view
these in tha same manrier was the thing that,� others
: to bring courst into disrepute 'end to shake men�s faith in
the administrAtion of the la�v.Hc•ivas ever intcrested in and
anxious for the progress and v�elf�re of the CiLg of Lynwood.

He died as he lived,abaolutely with his face
towerd the future and with complete•confidence in hie God
and his conntry and while actively engaged with the duties
of his offices. .

pf the Cit� of Lynwood:
'Phat in hi� death this e9.ty hAS lost A valued
sercant;the community a public apirited citizen� the
°' country one of its valiant defeilders and his family vvill
� find hereafter a vacancy �vhich cannot be filled in his home.
� BB IT FURTHUR RESOLVID that,recognizing as we
do that while the An�el of Death has received the dreo.d
• mandate to strike him from the-roll of tho living,that 1JIr.

� I`F IS THE,RE�'0�� ORDERED that this resolution
� be,and the same is hereby extended in full.to become and
remain a permanent part of the records of this City;that a
, copy hereof be delivered to the local paper for publics�tion;
thmt a copy of the same be delivered to the bereaved family
and that his office be draped in a suitable manner for a
period of thirty days from the date hereof.
