CALL TO ORDER

The Council "Pre- Meeting" Work Session of September 7, 2004, was convened at 5:45 P.M.
by Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Berry, Brown, Crane, Ferguson, Harvey, Martin, Schnitzler, Viessman,
Vogel, and Weber
None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda.
Appointments
Mayor John Landwehr stated he will be appointing Councilman Jonathon Schnitzler to
committees and as liaison to those boards and commissions on which the late Councilman Bill
Patterson served, with the exception of the Plumbing & Electrical Board. He said Councilman
Kevin Brown has requested to be removed as liaison to the Economic Development Advisory
Board and that Councilman Jonathon Schnitzler be appointed in his place on that board. Mayor
John Landwehr stated if any Council Member is interested in serving as liaison to the Plumbing
& Electrical Board to please contact him.
Resolutions
RS2004 -7 - Mayor John Landwehr stated he had received a letter this afternoon from Mr. Gary
Kempker, Director of the Missouri Department of Corrections, which he stated may preclude
the need for this resolution. Mayor Landwehr read the letter, and distributed copies to the
Council and media present, in which Mr. Kempker stated that the State of Missouri is
withdrawing their plan to locate a "halfway house" facility on the Metro Drive location outlined
in their plan announced over the past weekend.
Closed Session
COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 7, 2004 2
Mayor John Landwehr asked President Pro Tempore Edith Vogel to preside at the Closed
Session since he will have to leave immediately after the regular meeting adjourns. Councilman
Vogel stated she would be happy to preside.
No official actions were taken since this was a work session only.
The meeting adjourned at 5:55 P.M.
