A meeting of the 1ovn Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream,
Florida, was held at the Town Commission room in the Gulf :Stream
Golf Club Building, in the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida., at 10
a.m., on March 2z, 1949, with all of the Town Commissioners bein-,
present, namely: Mayor, L.Seton Lindsay; Vice- Mayor, Tth.T. Jebb;
Clerk, William J. Bauer.
The purpose of the callin- and holding of this meeting was
explained by the Mayor as being to consider a proposal by the
Gulf Stream 'Inter Company to have adopted a "Proposed Or inance
of The Town f Gulf. Stream Grantin? a Public Franchise."
Commissioner Lindsay moved that all formal notice of the Calling
of this Special 1 "eeting be duly waived, sail motion was seconded
by Commissioner Bauer, ami on roll call, those votin- in f nvor
of the motion were: Lindsay, Bauer & Jebb.
After considerable discussion of the merits and demerits of the
proposed Ordinance, Co- �missioner Limisay moved that said Ordinance
be intro ±.uced and re ^d in full for t he first time at this neetin
and adopted on its first rending, which motion was seconded by
Commissioner Bauer, and on roll call the Following Co-+missioners
voted in favor of the motion: Lindsay, Bauer and Jebb, whereupon
said "PROPOSED ORDINAI.TCE OF THE TOWN OF GULF 9T77AM GRANTING A
PU °.LIC FR.DTCHI31," was read in full, caption of said Proposed
Ordinance being:

Commissioner Lindsay moved that in view of the fact that there
was no newspaper published in the Town of Gulf Stream, that a
copy of said "Proposed Ordinance of the Town of Gulf Stream
Granting a Public Franchise 11 be immediately postei at the Door
of the Town Hall and the same being the south door of the Tovn
Commission room at. the Gulf Stream Golf Club, 6lub Flouse, in
the Town of Gulf Strum, Florida, and that Said copy of Proposed
Ordinance remain hosted in full view of the public until such
time as the Tqq� Uommiss. n holds its next meetin;^, which meetin,-
has been tent�viley set for 1949. Potion was
(, seconded by Commissioner Bauer and upon roll call the following
Co! ^mission.ers voted in favor of the motion: Lindsay,Bauer nni Jebb.

PARCH 22,1949 - part two
Commissioner Bauer moved that in view of the facts, the
Proposed Or'jinance must remain posted for at least thirty (30)
days and cannot be placed on a second reading and final adoption
until thirty (30) days from this date. Thereupon Corimissioner
Bauer moved that tjhe Commission meet at regular session at /0 a.m.
on oc� w z ;rh ` 1949 for the purpose of taking up and having the
Proposed Ordinate read a second time and adopted, provided there were
no objections from any of the tax payers, voters or residents of the
Town of Gulf Stream.
There being no further business to come before the Commission on
motion duly male, seconded and carried, the meetinm was adjourned.

The minutes of the meeting held on March 5th,1949 were read and
approved.
Follo*inm discussion the Commissioners voted to purchase a
Chevrolet Truck from T "in City Motors of West Palm Bench in
accori2nce vrith terms and conditions as per their letter t.n Mr.
Lindsay.
Due to complaints received from residents of the Town on heights
of buildings in apartment house zones, the council felt.it desirable
to correct the building zone ordinance to read that buil-lings may
not be erected that 7A11 exceed 45 feet in height.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
