Byrd Ordinance #101 titler -- "AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA, ABANDONING, CLOSING AND ABOLISHING A PORTION OF A CERTAIN STREET, ROAD AND /OR OCEAN BOULEVARD RIGHT OF WAY WITHIN THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM FLORIDA" was brought to the attention of the Commission and upon motion made by Mayor Commissioner L. Seton Lindsay and seconded by Town Clerk Commissioner Wm.J. Bauer and carried, said ordinance was ordered read in full on its second reading. There being no amendments offered, upon motion made by Commissioner Lindsay, seconded by Commissioner Bauer, said motion carried. The ordinance was passed by unanimous vote of the Commission as read. The Clerk was ordered to post said ordinance as required by Charter, and then file. The Town Clerk was ordered to record a certified copy thereof, in the office of Clerk of Circuit Court of Palm Beach County. Mayor L. Seton Lindsay reported that a contract between Gulf Stream Golf Club and the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida had been properly revised and amended and approved by Town Attorney C.Y. Byrd and that said contract had been executed by Mayor Commissioner Lindsay and Town Clerk Commissioner Bauer on behalf of Town of Gulf Stream and by Mr. P.H.B. Frelinghgysen as President of Gulf Stream Golf Club and Mr. Joseph E. Wholean as Secretary of Gulf Stream Golf Club. The completed contract as executed and approved was read to the Commission and approved and ordered filed by the Cleric in the records of the Town. Mayor Commissioner L. Seton Lindsay submitted to the Town Commission a map of all lands lying within the Town Limits as prepared by George S. Brockway, registered engineer, which map discloses all roads, streets and public easement dedications, and on motion duly made, seconded and carried, said Map of the Town was accepted and approved as the Official Map of the Town. Town Clerk Bauer submitted to this meeting, an official audit report made by Himes & Himes, Certified Public Accountsnts of West Palm Beach, Florida, such report was ordered filed. Bill for payment due Ocean City Lumber Company for $12.65 for water hose, was approved and ordred paid Meeting of the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, held July 13th,1949 at 9 a.m. page Two- Commissioner Lindsay brought to the attention of the Commission that the official records did not disclose the day upon which the holding of regular meetings of the Town Commission be held. Upon motion made by Commission Lindsay and seconded by Commissioner Bauer, regular commissioner meetings are to be held on the first Wednesday in each month at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall at the Gulf Stream Golf Club in the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida. Tax Assessor Bauer submitted to the Town Commission sitting as a Board of Equalizers, the 1949 Tax Roll upon which was listed the values of all real and personal property subject to Taxation within the Town. Mayor Lindsay asked if there were any taxpayers present who would like to review the roll and file complaint. Ther being none, upon motion duly made and seconded the 1949 Tax Roll as submitted by the Tax Ass- essor was ordered accepted and approved. The Budget submitted was as follows: Salary Police 2,400.00 Salary Town Clerk 600.00 Streets- Repairs, Cleaning & Lights 890.11 Postage, Printing & Staty. 30.00 Car Repairs and Maintenance 636.55 Telephone 50.00 Insurance -Cars & Streets 176.57 Safe Deposit Lox rent 9.00 Dry Cleaning Uniforms 26.60 Car License 2.25 Legal 100.00 Purchase new Pontiac less trade in 1,008.60' Miscl 00 00' Fire Protection 500.00 Fire equipment 10000.00 Garbage Truck 22000.00 Salary Garbage Collector 1,200.00 Maint & R"pair of Water Mains 100.00 119227. The Commissioners carefully went over the Budget for the current year as listed above. The Commissioners then voted tra t the millage for 1949 be set at 6 mills. The Town Tax Assessor was ordered to extend the 6 mill tax levy against all taxable property within the Town subject to tax, on the tax roll, and to certify the Roll back to the Town Commission at its regular meeting in October.
