THAT 'JnHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood
having in open session on the 7th day of�Iiovember, 1923, opened,�
' examined and publicly declsred all sealed proposals or bids for per-
Yorming the Pollowing work of improvement in said City, to-i^rit:
, First; That the following described streets in said City be
graded and paved with an oil TSacadam pavement Your (4) inches in
thickness, and have constructed along the same, cemont curbs of the
alass designated as Class "�" curb described in the hereinafter re�-
ferred to specifications, cement sidewalks four (4) feet in width,
and oement gutters Yive (5) inches in thickness. The above cement
curbs and sidewalks to be omitted on such portions of said streets
on which a cement curb oY the class above described or a sidewalk
four �4) feet or more in width has already been constructed and now
• exists to the official grad'e hereinafter.referred to, viz:
. . Agnes�s-treet, from the westerly boundar;� line of.,the. City of
Lynwood to the westerly line of Long Beach Boulevard, and from the
easterly line.o� Zong Beach Boulevard to the westerly line of School
Street. _ i
Magnolia'�vonue; Burton avenue and Carlin Avenus, from the.
eastorly line of Pine,Avenue to the westerly line of I,ong Beach j
Boulevard, and from the'easterly line of I,ong �each Boulevard to the
easterly boundary line of the City oY Lynwood;
Palm �lvenue, from the sasterly line oY Pine Avenue to the west-
erly line oY yong Beach Boulsvard;. '
L�a.clid Avenue froin the westerly boundary line oi' the City of
Lynvaood to the c�esterly line of Zong �oach Boulevar.d;
Pine Avsnue, from ruelid Avenue to Cedar ?�venue; and
:Oak �lvenue, from Euclid Avenue to tlie southerly boundary line
of the �ity of I,ynvaood. -
Second: That the fo1lo�Ning dsscribed streets in said City be
graded and oiled and have constructed along the same, cement curbs oY
the class designated as Class "B" curb described in the hereinafter
referred to speci�ications, cement sidewalks four (4) feet in width, •
and cement gutters five (5) inches in thickness. The above cement
curbs and sidewalks to be omitted on such portions of said.streets
on which a cement curb of the class above described or where a side-
walk Your (4) Yeet or more in width has already been ebnstructed and
now exists to the offioial grade hareina3ter referred to;. viz:
� Cedar ,�venue, from Pine kvenue to the westerly line o� Long
Beaoh Boulevard, and Yrom the easterly line of Long Beach Boulevard
to the easterly boundary line of the City of Lynwood;
Orchard <venue, from the easterly line af Long �each �oulevard
to the easterly.boundary line of the City of Lynwood; and
School Street,�irom Virginia Street to Cedar Avenue.
Third: That the northerly side of Orchard :lvenue, from Oak
Avenue�o Long �each Boulevard shall have constructed alonb the same,
cement curb oY the class designated as Class 'B" curb described in

the hereinafter referred to specifications, cement sidewalk four (4)
3eet in width, and.a cement gutter five (5) inches in thickness.
The above cement curb and sideivalk to be omitted on such portions of
said street on i�hich a cement curb of the class abovs d.escribed or
a sidewalk four (4) feet or more in width has already been construeted
and now exists tc the official "grade hereinafter referred to.
• Fourth: A11 0� the foregoing work is fully set forth, de-
lireated and described on Plan No. 389, Sheets 1 to 3 inclusive, on
file in the office oY the City yngineer of said City, and Specifi-
•'cations RTo. 1 for'the'construction of cement curbs in the City of
I,ynwood, Specifications No. 2 for the construction of cement sida-
walks in the City of I,ynwood, Specifications TJo. 3 for the construction
oY cement gutters in the City of �ynwood, Specifications T:o. 4 for
the gTading and oiling of streets and avenues in the City of Zynwood,
and Specifications it�o. 5 for street paving with oil macadam pavement
in tne City of Lynwood, on file in the office of the City Clerk of
s�id �ity. Said plans and specifications are hereby reYerred to for
the full and detailed description of the said proposed work or im-
provement and made appart heraof. �
Fifth: The grade to which the work shall be done and the im-
,� provemen made which are provided for in Resolution of Intontion I:o.
132 shall be the official grade which has hsretofore been formally
established by this 3oard of Trustees.
The expense of said vaork oP improvement is by the said reso-
lution made ehargeable upon a district tivhich said district is des-
cribed in and by the said resolution and is shown on Plan No. 389,
Sheets l to 3 inclusive, on file in ths office of the City Engineer.
Bonds �rill be issued as provided for in said Hesolution of In-
. tention P;o. 132.
Reference being made t,o Resolution of,Intention nTO. 132 for
further particulars oY said vrork of improvemant.
P;O�N, TH�RII'ORE, said Board of Trustees does hereby award the
contract for said work of improvement to the,lowsst ragular res-
ponsible bidder, towit': to Hall-Johnson Company, at the prices named
• for said work of iznprovemer�t in thoir proposal on file for said im-

The•Lynwood Tribune, a wsekly nev✓spaper of gsneral circulation,
published and circulated in said CitJ,of I,ynwood, is hereby desig-
nated as the nevaspaper in which the notice of tnis award shall be
published in the manner and by the persons required by law.
, The �ity �1erk is hereby directed to post a notice of this
award, vaith specifications; conspicuously for five-days, on or
the Chamber door of the Board of lrustees; also to publish said
notice of av�ard by two insertions in said weekly nev�spaper.
The �ity Clerk shall certify to the passage of this �esolution
and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
eYfect. .
