Home My Public Portal About20041203 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION DECEMBER 3, 2004 CALL TO ORDER 1 The Council "Brown Bag" Work Session of December 3, 2004, was convened at 12:05 P.M. by Mayor John Landwehr. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Brown, Ferguson, Harvey, Martin, and Vogel Absent: Berry, Crane, Schnitzler, and Viessman There was not a quorum, Mayor John Landwehr announced no actions could be taken, only discussion. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda. Appointments Mayor John Landwehr stated Cole County Commissioner had served on the Economic Development Advisory Board to represent the County, but that since he did not win his bid for re- election, he would like to appoint incoming Commissioner -Elect Chris Wrigley to take his place. The Council Members present thought that was agreeable. Mayor John Landwehr asked City Clerk Phyllis Powell to place that appointment on Monday night's agenda. Bills Introduced: 2004 -103: Councilman Kevin Brown stated this bill may be placed on the Informal Calendar to allow time for the Planning & Zoning Commission to look at issues which will be associated with this bill. Resolutions: RS2004 -11: The Mayor and City Council asked that this item be removed from the agenda until they have had an opportunity to view the plan associated with the resolution. Staff was asked to place it on the December 20 agenda instead, and to see if it is possible to place COUNCIL WORK SESSION DECEMBER 3, 2004 the plan on the city's web site. New Business: 2 Councilman Kevin Brown stated he would like to nominate the candidate to fill the vacant Ward Four City Council seat. Mayor John Landwehr stated it should be added to the agenda under New Business. Councilman Brown introduced Ms. Cindy Layton, the only person who filed for the Fourth Ward Council seat in the recent election filing period, and that he will be nominating her to fill former Councilman Bob Weber's seat. No official actions were taken since this was a work session only. The meeting adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
