Currently the Tybee Island Fire Department has 26
Volunteer Firefighters and 1 Full Time Firefighter. We
have 1 Part Time Firefighter who is also a Master
Firefighter with the City of Savannah. Additionally, we
have 4 First Responders for Squad 6 who are not
firefighters.

Emergency Management:
Fire Extinguishers, Exit Signs and AED Units located in the city buildings have been serviced. Working order at this
time.
Attended the Public Safety Committee meetings and recorded the minutes.
Attended the NFIP CRS Local Group meeting.
Attended the 2013 CEMA Hurricane Conference and participated as a member of the group panel discussion
entitled: "Rapid Needs Assessment-Getting to Tybee when the roads are gone".
Attended the Green Team Meeting on April 24th, 2013
Participated in Georgia Cities Week "City Staff Meet and Greet"April24th 2013.
ICS 402- Incident Command System Overview for Executives/ Senior Officials attended.
Attended the CEMA Municipal Emergency Update Meeting to review evacuation routes, county wide resource list,
Transportation Request, Critical Facility Restoration, Render Safe Teams, Priority Road Clearing, Critical Workforce
Sheltering, and Fuel Consumption Rates.
Attended the CEMA pre-season hurricane meeting for ESF 3- Public Works& Engineering and ESF-12-Energy.
Met with Planning&Zoning Director Diane Otto and Planning Commission Chairman Monty Parks to review the
NFIP CRS Flood Rating program.
Monitored Tropical Storm Andrea.
Attended the CRS changes to the new manual workshop on June 28th
