CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.2015-49
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY CONCEPT LAYOUT FOR
THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE TH 55 AT CR 116/CSAH 115
INTERSECTION
WHEREAS, the City of Medina proposes to participate in the reconstruction of
the intersection of TH 55 at CR 116/CSAH 115 with improved channelization and a
second left turn lane from South CR 116 to TH 55 to increase safety and capacity at the
intersection within the corporate City limits in Hennepin County, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, a preliminary concept layout has been developed based on
engineering analysis as well as the input from the City of Medina, Hennepin County,
Mn/DOT, Medina property owners, business owners and residents; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary concept layout No. 4 was presented to the City
Council at the June 2, 2015 meeting where additional feedback was solicited; and
WHEREAS, the parking of motor vehicles is prohibited at all times on both sides
of County Highway 116 throughout the project limits; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County, Mn/DOT, and the City of Medina will continue
to work with impacted Medina businesses throughout the project design phase to improve
traffic circulation; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Medina, that
the City of Medina approves Layout No. 4, Hennepin County Project No. 0918, for the
reconstruction of County Highway No. 116 at the intersection with TH 55.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes City staff to
continue working with Mn/DOT and Hennepin County to investigate options to reduce
impacts of access closures for Medina businesses and to obtain agency approval for the
preliminary concept layout for the TH 55 at CR 116/CSAH 115 intersection
reconstruction project.

Pederson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Anderson, Cousineau, Mitchell, Pederson
And the following voted against same: (Absent: Martin)
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
